The biggest crowd ever participated in the fundraiser for the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio
CLEVELAND -- The 12th Diversity Walk, Rock and Run boasted an estimated 8,000 registrants, Saturday. Event organizers say last year 7,000 people attended.
The annual 5k started and ended at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in downtown Cleveland.
It is hosted by the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio.
The walk/run raises money and awareness for the organization, established in 1927.
According to the organization's website, the Diversity Center of Northeast Ohio is "a human relations organization dedicated to eliminating bias, bigotry, and racism."
Channel 3's main anchor, Russ Mitchell, served as the Grand Marshal for the event. "The Diversity Center of North East Ohio does great work in promoting diversity throughout the area. It's a chance for people to come out and celebrate differences," Mitchell tells Chanel 3's Hilary Golston.
WKYC Channel 3 is also a proud sponsor.
