10 a.m. update

RTA does not anticipate any of the shut down train lines will be in operation at any point today.

9 a.m. update

Storms took down a wall near the Buckeye Woodhill station on the shared area of the Blue and Green lines overnight.

TOP STORY: $2 million home destroyed after lightning strike

The Blue Line is running between Van Aken and Shaker Square but is being served by buses from Shaker Square to Tower City. The Green Line is being entirely served by buses. The Waterfront Line is running but is delayed.

7:15 a.m. update

Buses are replacing Blue and Green lines from Tower City to Shaker Square as well as all Green Line trains from Shaker Square to Green Road. Blue Line trains are operating east of Shaker Square.

10:15 p.m. update

Parts of Shaker Heights had severe flooding. The fire department there setup a temporary Emergency Operations Center to manage the situation. Some residents reported their basements being flooded.

8:45 p.m. update

Tornado warnings were issued for Cuyahoga and Lake counties. The warning is set to expire at 9 p.m.

7:00 p.m. Update

RTA says the blue and green lines will likely stay closed through the rest of the day. Also, rail service may remain closed for part of the morning Monday. Shuttle service will replace those routes until service can be resumed.

Warrensville Center Road in Maple Heights has reopened since floodwaters have receded. Police are working to setup stop signs to replace malfunctioning traffic lights.

Northfield Road is still flooded just north of the I-480 entrance ramp.


6:00 p.m. Update

RTA has shut down the blue and green lines due to flooding. Also, a retention wall near East 93rd Street and Buckeye has collapsed and left debris on the tracks.After a batch of storms moved through the area, flood warnings have been issued for Cuyahoga and Geauga counties.

Also on the east side, flooding has closed two major roads and some side streets in Maple Heights and North Randall.

Maple Heights police have closed Warrensville Center Road between Libby Road and Rockside Road until further notice.

Also, Northfield Road has been closed under the I-480 overpass due to flooding.
