Retailer Gordon Food Service Marketplace, which services Ohio, has been added to the list of retailers that may have received ground beef that may be contaminated with E. coli.

On May 19, the U.S D.A. announced the massive recall of 1.8 million pounds of ground beef from Wolverine Packing Co., based in Detroit.

The ground beef products were produced between March 31 and April 18. The affected products bear the establishment number of EST. 2574B.

The beef was shipped to distributors for restaurant and retail use nationwide.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, an investigation revealed that there is a link between the beef from Wolverine Packing Company and a cluster of reported illnesses.

E. coli symptoms include dehydration, bloody diarrhea and abdominal cramps and can also lead to deadly complications in some cases.
