NORTH CANTON -- In less than 24 hours, three people have apparently died from apparent heroin overdoses, according to police.

One person in North Canton and two persons in Canton have all died the same way.

The North Canton Police Department, the Canton Police Department, the Stark County Metro Narcotics Unit and Stark County Coroner Dr. P. S. Murthy are warning residents that this particular batch of the drug is seriously dangerous and life-threatening.

All three deaths are pending toxicology results from the Stark County Coroner's office.

These law enforcement agencies are actively working together regarding the death investigations. Police say this is a warning to all Stark County residents to be aware of drug overdoses occurring in our communities, whether intentional or accidental, and urging users to seek treatment and avoid using heroin.
