NEW FRANKLIN -- The State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash late Sunday. It happened on Van Buren Road just south of Center Road in Summit County.

Patrol says a blue 1999 Chevrolet Lumina was northbound on Van Buren Road and lost control. The vehicle struck an embankment and a tree before overturning and coming to a rest on its roof. Both occupants were not wearing seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle.

Officials say 26-year-old Jessica Goff from Clinton was pronounced dead at the scene.

32-year-old Charles E. King III of Barberton sustained injuries in the accident. He was taken to Akron City Hospital by the Clinton Fire Department.

State troopers say alcohol does appear to be a factor in the crash.
