The Hudson pain doctor is charged with 27 counts, including rape, against 11 alleged victims
AKRON -- Just after 4 p.m. Wednesday, the jury deliberations reached a total of 20 hours without a verdict in the sex crimes trial of Dr. James Bressi in Summit County Common Pleas Court.
The jury is scheduled to return at 9 a.m. Thursday.
The eight-man and four-woman panel arrived at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday and resumed their review a half hour later.
The jury received the case from Judge Tom Parker on Monday afternoon and has now spent 20 hours deliberating.
The Hudson pain doctor is charged with 27 counts, including rape, against 11 alleged victims. If convicted on all counts, he faces a minimum of 31 years in prison.
Last week, Bressi testified that bottles of sweetener and silver in his pocket were mistaken by victims who came forward to be his genitals.
Prosecutors argue Bressi's "bold and brash" behavior along with a crumbling business practice led to his actions.
