U.S. Congressman Michael Grimm (R) of New York, physically threatened a news reporter after Tuesday's State of the Union address.

The exchange at the Capitol was caught on camera.

New York 1 reporter Michael Scotto tried to ask Grimm about a federal investigation into his 2010 campaign fundraising.

Grimm refused to answer the question, abruptly ended the interview and walked off camera.

Once the report concluded and Scott signed off, Grimm walked back toward him and issued the threat.

"Let me be clear to you," Grimm declares, "if you ever do that to me again, I'll throw you off this f***ing balcony."

After Scotto argued his question was valid, Grimm replied, "No. No. You're not man enough. You're not man enough. I'll break you in half like a boy."

Grimm has defended his actions in a statement to New York 1 saying, "I doubt that I am the first member of Congress to tell off a reporter, and I am sure I won't be the last."

New York 1 has demanded an apology.

Scotto says there were no pre-conditions when he spoke with Grimm prior to the interview beginning. He also says Grimm knew the camera was still rolling when he made the threats.
