PHOENIX -- On Monday, President Obama is expected to nominate former Proctor & Gamble executive Robert McDonald to lead the Veterans Administration.
On Sunday, the Arizona Republic ran a front page editorial about the decision.
Veterans groups worry that McDonald may have trouble adjusting to a far-flung bureaucracy of more than 300,000 employees.
"The VA is focusing on what it ought to be doing, but it's continuing to honor folks for their service, but through a different means," said editorial director Robert Leger. "One where they get to choose their care, government's still helping them to get it."
Cleveland Clinic CEO Toby Cosgrove withdrew his name from consideration for the job, saying he wanted to focus on work that still needs to be done here.
