CLEVELAND -- Armond Budish has picked up another big-name endorsement in his bid to be Cuyahoga County Executive.
Senator Sherrod Brown announced he is supporting Budish's campaign.
In a statement, Brown said, " Armond Budish's longtime leadership in Cuyahoga County and commitment to workers, creating jobs and growing our economy will make him a great County Executive. Armond believes that Ohioans who work hard and play by the rules should be able to build a better life for their families."
Budish said, "Senator Brown is the true voice of working and middle class families in Ohio. I am grateful for his endorsement, and I hope I exemplify Senator Brown's spirit and dedication to lifting up the poor and improving the lives of middle class families as Cuyahoga County Executive.
Brown joins Mayor Frank Jackson and Congresswoman Marcia Fudge, among other elected officials, supporting Budish.
On Sunday, Democratic city and ward leaders will interview candidates and decide who to recommend the the Party's executive committee for endorsement next month.
Democrats former Cuyahoga County Sheriff Bob Reid, state Senator Shirley Smith and activist Tim Russo are also in the county executive race.
Cuyahoga County Councilman Jack Schron is the leading Republican candidate running.
