Multiple sources confirm that scheduled visit dates for the Site Selection Committee are June 2-4
CLEVELAND -- In the competition for the 2016 Republican convention, Cleveland apparently will get to make its final sales pitch first.
Multiple sources confirm that scheduled visit dates for the Site Selection Committee are June 2-4.
Republicans are expected to make an official announcement of the group's itinerary next week.
In earlier rounds of presentations to the committee in Washington, D.C., and an advance team in Cleveland, the city presented last.
Cleveland joins Kansas City, Dallas and Denver as remaining finalists.
The earlier visit by a technical advance committee focused on logistics, details and particulars of the city's hospitality, transportation, safety and financing plan.
This visit will be more about red-carpet wining and dining and trying to wow visitors with the city's spirit and commitment to helping Republicans have a successful convention.
Cleveland made it to this round in 2006. That convention ultimately went to Minneapolis/St, Paul.
