Many drivers throughout Northeast Ohio will not be able to avoid the orange barrel this weekend. Multiple construction projects throughout Cuyahoga, Lake and Portage counties will require road and highway lane closures between Friday, September 19 and Monday morning September 22.

SR-14/I-480 WB will be closed in Streetsboro under the Ohio Turnpike bridge (Exit 187) until 5:00 a.m. Monday morning. The bridge is undergoing emergency repairs after sustaining heavy damage in a major crash last month.
All ramps to and from the Turnpike will remain open through the work zone. However, those wanting to access I-480 WB from SR-14 WB will be detoured SR 303 WB through Streetsboro and Hudson to SR 91 NB to I-480 WB in Twinsburg. The closure will begin Saturday, September 20 at 6:00 a.m.
In Cuyahoga County, the I-77 SB exit ramps to I-480 east and westbound in Independence will close Friday, September 19 at 9 p.m. and not reopen until 9 a.m. Saturday morning. Drivers should take I-490 WB to SR 176 SB to I-480 as a detour. The closure is for a bridge deck pour.
At 6:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, crews for Cleveland's Water Department will close Buckeye Road between E. 121st and E. 123rd St. Crews are repairing damage sustained to Buckeye Rd as a result of an earlier water main break. The road is expected to reopen Monday, September 22 at 8 a.m. Detours are posted.
In Geauga County, a portion of SR 528 will close at 7 a.m. Saturday, September 20 for a culvert repair. The work will stretch between Hart Rd and Joanne Drive closing SR 528 between U.S. 6 and SR 166. Drivers will be detoured via U.S. 6 to SR 86 to SR 166.
Drivers on I-90 through Lake County should prepare for delays. Crews for the Ohio Department of Transportation will close one lane of I-90 EB between SR 615 and the Concord Township Rest Area and two lanes of I-90 WB between SR 615 and SR 306 for pavement repairs. The work will start Friday, September 19 at 8 p.m. and conclude at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21. Traffic delays are anticipate during this work. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes.

ASHLAND COUNTY ALERTS
Township Road 63 is closed through October 9 between US Route 250 and Township Road 1300 in Perry Township. Crews are conducting a bridge replacement. Detours are posted.
ASHTABULA COUNTY ALERTS
SR 46 just north of US 6 is closed in Jefferson for a culvert replacement. The detour is SR 307 to SR 11 to US 6.
SR 84, one mile east of the Lake County line in Geneva, will be closed through Wednesday, September 17 for a culvert replacement. The detour is SR 534 to US 20 to SR 528.
CUYAHOGA COUNTY ALERTS
Larchmere Blvd and Kendall Rd are closed in Shaker Hts due to a large sinkhole. Crews are working during the day to repair the road. Shaker Hts police have no estimated time of reopening. Fairhill Rd is a detour option to the Larchmere closing.
Construction crews plan to close Northfield Rd at Chagrin Blvd in Shaker Hts the week of September 15th. The closure is the next phase of the Van Aken district road reconfiguration project. Southbound drivers will be detoured Warrensville Center Road to just north of the Post Office on the newly relocated Northfield Rd. Northbound traffic will be detoured to the newly relocated Northfield Rd.
ERIE COUNTY ALERTS
In Margaretta Township, US 6, just west of SR 269, is closed for a culvert replacement project. The westbound detour is US 6 to SR 269 SB to SR 101 SB to SR 412 WB to SR 510 NB to US 6, and reverse for eastbound drivers. The road is expected to reopen on October 2, 2014.
GEAUGA COUNTY ALERTS
The US 422 EB exit ramp to SR 44 near Chagrin Falls is closed through late September. Crews are rebuilding the exit ramp. The detour is US 422 EB to SR 700 SB to SR 82 WB to SR 44. Drivers should add extra time to their commute to adjust for the detour.
LORAIN COUNTY ALERTS
SR 57, one-half-mile south of SR 303 in Grafton Township is closed through October 1, 2014 for a bridge replacement project. The detour for southbound drivers is SR 57 to SR 303 EB to SR 252 SB to SR 57, and reverse for northbound motorists.
SR-511 remains closed at the southern corporation limit of the village of Rochester. The northbound detour is SR 511 to SR 162 EB to SR 58 NB to SR 16 WB to SR 511, and reverse for northbound drivers.

PORTAGE COUNTY ALERTS
The drive to Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown may become complicated for some starting Wednesday, September 17. SR-44 (Ravenna Louisville Rd), just north of Hartville Rd., near Neomed and Rootstown High School will be closed through late September for a culvert replacement. The detour is US 224 WB to SR 43 NB to I-76 EB. The detour will add about 10 to 15 minutes to the drive.
Another portion of SR-44 is closed through November due to a bridge replacement project. SR-44 (Main St) near Mantua is closed over the Cuyahgoa River, north of Canada Rd. The detour is SR 303 to SR 700 to SR 82.
Also in Portage County, SR 88 between Ely Rd and Mills Rd is closed through late September for a slide repair. The closure is just north of SR 305. The detour is SR 305 to SR 700 to US 422.
RICHLAND COUNTY ALERTS
SR 13, at its overlap with SR 96 between Ashland and Shelby Ohio, is closed through mid-October for a bridge replacement project. The detour for SR 13 northbound drivers is SR 96 WB to SR 61 NB to US 224 EB to SR 13 and reverse for southbound drivers. The detour for SR 96 eastbound drivers is SR 96 WB to SR 61 NB to SR 603 SB to SR 13 SB to SR 96 and reverse for westbound motorists. The road is expected to reopen on October 17, 2014.
Driving on I-71 will be a tight squeeze through portions of Richland County during the month of September. The highway will be reduced to two lanes of traffic between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. nightly. The highway will then be reduced to one lane in each direction at times throughout the night. Crews are patching pavement on this portion of I-71.
SR 95, just east of State Route 603 in Perrysville, is closed through September 20 for a culvert repair. The detour for eastbound drivers is SR 95 to SR 97 EB to SR 3 NB to SR 39 WB to SR 95, and reverse for westbound drivers.
A culvert replacement has closed a section of SR 603 in Weller Township. The road will be closed through October 18, 2014 just north of Faulk Rd. The detour route for southbound drivers is SR 603 to SR 96 EB to Claremont Avenue southbound to US Route 42 SB to SR 603, and reverse for northbound motorists.
STARK COUNTY ALERTS
Multiple ramps are closed in Canton due to bridge repairs. The I-77 SB ramp to US 62 EB and the US 62 EB ramp to Cleveland Ave are closed through early October. The ODOT recommended detour for drivers needing to get around the I-77 SB closure to US 62 is I-77 SB to SR 687/Fulton Rd. The US-62 EB detour is US 62 EB to SR 43 to US 62 WB.
US 62 east at Cleveland Avenue is reduced to one lane.
Bridge repairs are causing nightly lane restrictions on I-77 at US 30 in Canton. The restrictions will be in place between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning and on Saturdays between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
SUMMIT COUNTY ALERTS
The SR 8 SB ramp to I-76 WB and the I-76 EB ramp to SR-8 NB will close both Wednesday night, September 17 and Thursday night, September 18. These ramps are located at Akron's Central Interchange where I-77, SR-8 and I-76 converge. The ramps will be closed between the hours of 7:00 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning for guardrail installation.
Drivers needing to access I-76 WB from SR 8 SB will be detoured SR-8 SB to I-76 EB to Fuller Rd to I-76 WB. The detour for drivers who need to access SR-8 NB from I-76 EB is I-76 EB to Fuller Rd. to I-76 WB to SR 8 NB. Add extra time to your drive to adjust to these detours.
Drivers should prepare for overnight delays on SR 8 (Northfield Rd) between the southern Northfield corporation limit and the Cuyahoga County line in Walton Hills. There will be various nightly lane restrictions on this stretch of road due to resurfacing. The restrictions will occur Sunday through Thursday night, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. The project is expected to be completed by early October.
In Macedonia there will be nightly lane restrictions on both I-271 north and south between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Crews are paving the shoulder to prepare for the reconstruction and widening of I-271 between SR 8 and the Cuyahoga County line.
