Now, this qualifies as bona fide "buzz feed":

More than 5,000 wasps built a gigantic nest on a bed in a British widow's home in southern England.

The wasps had entered through an open window and feasted on the mattress and pillow to create their 3-foot-by-1-foot home in a little-used room of the five-bedroom house in Winchester, according to news reports. The unidentified woman's son discovered the creation during a visit.

An exterminator estimated the construction took at least three months.

"In 45 years I have never seen anything like it," pest controller John Birkett toldThe Guardian. "It's amazing that the woman didn't realize she was living with them."

Before this one, the biggest bedroom wasp nest he had seen was about the size of a tennis ball.

Birkett estimated there were 700 queen wasps among the colony of 5,000 insects. It took about two hours to remove the nest.

"I just stood back in amazement," he said in a BBC interview. "I did think what a wonderful job they had done."
