SOUTH BEND -- Tommy Rees threw for 256 yards and Cierre Wood rushed for 94 yards, as the 24th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish ground out a 16-14 victory over the Boston College Eagles in their final home game of the season.
Notre Dame, now 8-3, faces Stanford next week.
Senior back Jonas Gray rushed for 61 yards and a score in the win, but left in the third quarter with a knee injury.
The Fighting Irish (8-3), who have won eight of nine, limited Boston College to 254 total yards and got three field goals from David Ruffer.
Chase Rettig completed 18-of-38 passes for 174 yards and a touchdown for the Eagles (3-8), who were coming off a 14-10 win over NC State.
Josh Bordner and Bobby Swigert each scored a touchdown in the loss.
