The Indians were shut out for the first time this spring, falling to the Texas Rangers by a final score of 5-0 this afternoon at Goodyear Ballpark.

Cleveland is now 17-8-2 in Cactus League play this spring.

The Indians offense was held in check for most of the afternoon as Rangers LHP ROBBIE ROSS (7.0 IP, 0R, 8 SO) scattered just 4 hits across his 7.0 innings of work.

NICK SWISHER, who batted in the lead-off spot for the Tribe, accounted for 2 of those hits, finishing the afternoon 2-for-3 with a double. ELLIOT JOHNSON also chipped in a multi-hit effort, including his 4th double of the spring in the bottom of the 8th. JOSH TOMLIN (6.1 IP, 7 H, 4 R-ER, 2 BB, 1 HR) struck out 5 batters across his 6.1 innings, followed by scoreless outings from KYLE CROCKETT (1.0 IP, 1 SO) and BLAKE WOOD (0.2 IP, 1 BB).

Cleveland will host Milwaukee tomorrow afternoon in its final exhibition contest at Goodyear Ballpark this spring (3 road games remaining). The Indians will send RHP JUSTIN MASTERSON to the mound opposite RHP YOVANI GALLARDO for the Brewers.
