CLEVELAND -- According to the Cleveland Indians, Justin Masterson has been traded by the Cleveland Indians to the St. Louis Cardinals. Apparently the Cardinals need pitching help and the right-hander fills the bill.

The Tribe would get minor league OF James Ramsey for Masterson.

He entered the 2014 season ranked as the 6th-best prospect in the Cardinals organization according to MLB.com and started in the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game two weeks ago in Target Field.

In 2013, the Alpharetta, GA native spent his first full professional season between A Palm Beach, AA Springfield and AAA Memphis where he hit a combined .265 (109-411) with 16 2B, 4 3B, 16HR & 51 RBI in 112 games (.373OB/.440SLG /.814OPS).
