CLEVELAND -- The Cavaliers still don't know what happened to Austin Carr's retired jersey banner.

The large No. 34, which was hanging from a walkway high inside Quicken Loans Arena, came up missing Tuesday night when Cleveland hosted the New Orleans Pelicans.

The team said the banner was in place on Monday night for a pro wrestling event.

The Cavs are continuing to investigate and plan to install a new one in time for the next home game.

Carr was the first player drafted by the Cavs. He played nine seasons for Cleveland and had his jersey retired in 1981.

He currently works as a TV color analyst for the club.

Carr joked "maybe I'm coming out of retirement" when he learned his banner was gone. Carr's banner is one of several hanging from the arena's ceiling.
