Here is a quick look at Pettine's career biography.

Pettine is entering his 14th season in the NFL.

He spent the past season with the Buffalo Bills as their defensive coordinator.

The 47-year-old improved the Bills' defense in every statistical category, including a team record 57 sacks.

Before landing in western New York, Pettine served as the defensive coordinator with the New York Jets for four years under Coach Rex Ryan.

Pettine also worked as a member of the Baltimore Ravens staff from 2002-2008. He coached outside linebackers from 2005-2008.

Before that, he served as a defensive assistant in 2004, after working two years as a coaching and video assistant in a quality control role.

Pettine's career path to the NFL started at the high school level. He was the head coach at North Penn High School in Pennsylvania. He also served as the head coach at William Tennent High School.
