The Cleveland Browns have signed FB Chris Pressley.
BEREA, Ohio -- The Cleveland Browns on Monday signed fullback Chris Pressley. General Manager Ray Farmer made the announcement.
Pressley a 5-10, 249-pound veteran, enters his sixth NFL season out of Wisconsin. Originally signed as an undrafted free agent by Cincinnati in 2009, Pressley has appeared in 43 games with 20 starts with the Bengals and Buccaneers. In addition to serving as lead blocker, Pressley has added six receptions for 28 yards with a touchdown.
Prior to missing most of last season with a knee injury, Pressley in 2012 helped Bengals running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis lead the NFL in third-and-1 rushing conversions (14-of-15). Pressley served as Cincinnati's starting fullback from 2011-12, appearing in 29 games. He spent 2013 on the Bengals' Physically Unable to Perform list until he was released on Dec. 10.
In college, where he played for the Badgers with Joe Thomas, Pressley helped block for a 1,000-yard back in each of the three seasons he saw significant playing time. He is a native of Woodbury, N.J., where he attended Woodbury High School.
