Johnny Manziel got a huge endorsement over the weekend from one of his coaches. Offensive Coordinator Kyle Shanahan told USA Today, our parent company, that Johnny reminds him of Robert Griffin III.

Shanahan coached RGIII with the Redskins and he started right away. Was this a hint that Shanahan wants Manziel to start?

I don't know for sure, but he's praising his rookie quarterback. Shanahan put together a game plan that had RGIII succeed in his first season. He was rookie of the year and he led the Redskins to the playoffs.

He says both quarterbacks can make things happen with their legs and when they're in the pocket, both have the arm strength and intelligence to make the throws.

Shanahan would not name a starter in the article. He would only say the decision will be pretty simple, based on the QB that moves the offense during preseason.

To me, drafting Manziel and telling him he won't start is like giving your child a bike for Christmas. You tell them they can't ride it because the roads are icy, the bike has to sit in the garage until the spring, but then, you change your mind and let them take the bike out in the cold. A little more dangerous, but you don't want them to wait.

Manziel is like your kid. I believe eventually this coaching staff will realize you can't keep him waiting. Shanahan obviously loves Manziel. Is this another sign that Johnny Football is about to take over?
