Northeast Ohio saw it fair share of extreme weather this January 2014. Temperatures see-sawed all month, from well below zero to well above zero. We had a lot of rain and snow days, with tons of school closures due to weather.
In terms of snow, most of Northeast Ohio, including Cleveland, Akron-Canton, Mansfield and Youngstown received between 19 and 24 inches of snow. Toledo was the big winner in the snow department, receiving 40.2 inches of snow and breaking a previous January snow record of 30.8 inches, set in 1978.
