If you set your alarm to see the lunar eclipse early this morning, you were probably disappointed because it was too cloudy around here to see it.

The "blood moon" is one of the top trending topics online.

It's dubbed a "blood moon" because it takes on a red color during the eclipse due to the refraction of sunlight by earth's atmosphere.

This is the first of four complete lunar eclipses happening at about a six-month interval. The next one should fall on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
