CLEVELAND - A pedestrian is dead after being hit by an RTA bus on I-90 eastbound between West 117th Street and West 140th Street.
Police believe the victim's car was disabled and he tried to cross the interstate for reasons unknown. Initially, it was believed that the bus hit a female, but on Thursday evening, police confirmed that the victim was a man. RTA reports that the male was 46-year-old.
I-90 has been reopened after a lengthy closure between the West 140th and McKinley Avenue exits.
According to RTA, no passengers were on the bus and the operator was not injured. The bus had just departed from the Triskett Road bus garage and had begun its route east.
