Cedar Point: Space Spiral torn down in 17 seconds

At 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 12, Cedar Point crews destroyed the iconic Space Spiral ride to make room for the new GateKeeper roller coaster. After a quick explosion at its base, the ride toppled to the ground. The ride opened back in 1965.
