As of 5 pm EDT it had maximum sustained winds at 45 mph, moving to the east at 8 mile per hour. Tropical storm force winds of 70 mph extend a little over 68 miles from the center of the storm. Currently there are no watches or warnings in effect due the storm.
According to the National Hurricane Center, Tropical Storm Chris is forecast to become a post-tropical cyclone Wednesday night or Thursday.
