CLEVELAND - The American Meteor Society confirms a meteor passed over Ohio on Saturday night.
Saturday's sighting was reported about 6:50 p.m. EST and seen by observers in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, North Carolina, Tennessee, Virgina and West Virginia.
This was the second night in a row that a meteor was seen over parts of Ohio and the Midwest. Friday's sighting around 8:45 p.m. appeared to point in the direction of northwest Ohio or southern lower Michigan.
Those who witnessed Saturday's meteor say it was unusually low to the horizon and very bright.
Reports to the American Meteor Society indicate the meteor could have fallen to earth somewhere in southern Ohio or northern Kentucky.
