How rare is April snow?

CLEVELAND - A late April snowstorm maybe a rarity, but it's not as much a freak occurrence as one may think.

While many are disappointed in Mother Nature for bringing a possible 1-3 inches of snow Tuesday, it's far from the worst April accumulation on record.

  • April 6, 1982: Cleveland has 8.6 inches of snow.
  • April 24, 2005: Cleveland got 8.5 inches of snow.
  • April 1, 1996: Cleveland got 7.1 inches of snow.
  • April 2, 2005: Cleveland got 6.4 inches of snow.
  • April 7 2007: Cleveland was hit with 4.4 inches of snow.
