Magnitude 6.1 quake rattles Aleutian Islands in Alaska

AMUKTA ISLAND, Alaska - A moderate 6.1 magnitude earthquake rattled the Aleutian Islands in Alaska on Wednesday.

The United State Geologic Survey says the quake struck at 4:13 p.m. EST just north of Amukta Island.

No tsunamis are expected from this quake, although several aftershocks have occurred in the same area this afternoon.
