Thick morning fog triggers weather alerts

A thick fog settled in overnight, triggering weather alerts throughout northeast Ohio early Wednesday.

With visibility ranging from near zero to a quarter mile, the National Weather Service put most of the Channel 3 viewing area under a Dense Fog Advisory until 9 a.m.

A handful of schools even delayed the start of classes by two hours due to the foggy conditions.

Authorities urged drivers to slow down, use low beams and leave plenty of distance from the vehicle in front.
