Weather across the nation on June 2, 2017

The Northeast, central Appalachians and Carolinas can expect a rare dry day tomorrow while unsettled weather churns in the Central states.

Widespread moist, southerly flow will surge out of the Gulf, sparking showers and thunderstorms throughout the day in Texas and the Gulf states.

A warm front lifting into the Upper Midwest will promote potentially severe storms from southern Wisconsin. Farther south, humid and increasingly warm weather will lead to mainly afternoon storms in parts of the central Plains.

Even outside of the Upper Midwest, thunderstorms can disrupt travel and outdoor activities with torrential downpours, gusty winds and lightning.

Over much of the Rockies and throughout the West, dry warmth will continue to build under mainly clear skies.
