Weather across the nation on May 2, 2017

A cool breeze will filter across the Northeast tomorrow, accompanied by sunshine for most.

Temperatures will average near to slightly below normal. Only very spotty showers could dampen New York and New England. Dry weather will extend through much of the Southeast, with the main exception being thunderstorms in South Florida.

A new storm will strengthen over the South Central states, unleashing another round of flooding rain around the middle and lower Mississippi River Valley. Severe thunderstorms can occur across East Texas and Louisiana. Clouds and showers will riddle the Midwest.

The West Coast to the High Plains can expect a dry and sunny day. Any wet weather will remain confined to the northwest corner of Washington. Heat will build over the Desert Southwest and California.
