Weather across the nation on May 8, 2017

Unseasonably chilly and unsettled conditions are again forecast to plague the Northeast tomorrow.

Temperatures in New England will stay at least 10-20 degrees Fahrenheit below average. Sunshine and cool conditions are on tap in the mid-Atlantic, while showers and thunderstorms drift from the Midwest to the Ohio Valley and central Appalachians.

Sunshine and summerlike warmth will prevail across the Deep South and Southeast and provide the ideal setting for hiking, biking, fishing and gardening. A storm system moving through the Four Corners will spark showers and drenching thunderstorms.

Localized flooding of streets, streams and poor drainage areas is the primary concern. Severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging wind gusts and a few tornadoes may slam the Texas and Oklahoma panhandles late in the day.
