Indoor Winter Fun
What a wallop Mother Nature hit us with this week! Doesn't bother me too much, but it will make dragging an ice shanty pretty difficult. Oh well!
If you're more a fair weather fisher, and the cold, snow, and ice doesn't appeal to you, there are some things you can do to pass the time. One is to get on the Internet and research some techniques, tips, and tricks to improve your fishing. There are some very informative discussions going on right now at ohiogamefishing.com about trolling for walleye on Lake Erie. Just go to the "Lake Erie" section and jump in with both feet. The guys there are very helpful and will answer any of your questions.
This time of year is also outdoor show season. If you want to get out of the house, look at boats, plan trips, or find a tackle deal or two, this is a great way to pass the time. There is a list of Ohio outdoor shows on ohiogamefishing.com as well!
Our site will be manning a booth at the Vic's Sport Center/Summit Archery and Tackle Outdoor Show in Cuyahoga Falls on Feb 23, 24, and 25 and I will be doing ice fishing seminars the same weekend at the Select Hunting and Fishing Show in Strongsville the same weekend. Now, all I have to do is figure out how to be at two places at once, and I'll be all set!
Lastly, after you get tired of typing, and the shows are over, there's always the yearly task of organizing your tackle box, or in my case, BOXES. It's good to do, then you'll know what you have, know what you need, and most importantly, know where it is!
Well, I'm off to put some new line on a couple ice fishing reels. I'm on vacation next week and will take full adavntage of the cold and good, thick ice. Look for pictures again next entry, plus (hopefully) some GREAT fishing reports!
I'm Carl "Big Daddy" Bachtel and thanks for stopping by.
