The Long Presidential Race

I must say there's nothing like the night of an important general election.
I get overly excited and revel in the opportunity to bring our viewers the facts and the numbers from the voting precincts.
Its a night that can be filled with suspense and intrigue, because of the uncertainty of the outcome of the races, whether it be the Presidential race, an Ohio senate contest or local political battles and certain issues.

But I'm ready to "get it on" so to speak. I can't remember a presidential campaign in recent years that seems to have dragged on for so long.

All of the "he said she said" rhetoric has become so mundane. You can't escape it every minute during every program.

Maybe I'm just a little to close to the race as a member of the media having to talk about it down for almost 2 years now.

Is there anyone besides me counting down the days to November fourth?

In concern with presidential race i have a peoblem i'v not much heard about. The extreme lull in social security claims in Ohio. i personally have worked over 30 yrs. i am only 49 and had no intentions of being disabled. my son started college this yr n I have been off work since Feb. 14 2007, still have not got a date for ss hearing. I had disc replacement in my neck in april 2007 and 5 discs replaced in oct. 2007 Have no income, husband took a new job with less pay but some benefits, my job brought 1700.00 a month with no overtime which was available. we have gone through all my profit sharing and 401K JUST TRYING TO LIVE. MY BENEFITS WERE ALL COMPANY PAID. MY HUSBAND PAYS 170.00 PER MONTH FOR IT NOW AND IT COVERS NO PREEXISTING. I am way behind and scared to death of losing my house. I am still on total disability and 2 yrs waiting for ss hearing and what happens if i am denied social security th is a big concern for lower middle class families. but we need help. ty so much for your time forward these concerns to whomever u deem necessary. I didnt know who to contact. please help! Peggy S Smith e-mail bart1997@sssnet.com

I agree with you 100% I am excited about this election but I am so ready for it to be over. I am tired of the name calling, negativity and I am ready for the people of the United States to come together and remember what is really important, pulling this country together and moving forward in strength both economically and global.

I am with you there too Romona, I am tired of all the attack ads and I watched Obama's 30-minute ad yesterday and I thought it was a very informative piece. But I am waiting for it to be over, and now it will only be 4 days? Yipee.

Karen,
Thanks for chimming in.
I can't believe the "money" these candidates have to spend on ads.
I hope you'll check out our special coverage next Monday and Tuesday!
