Romona's afternoon with Conan O'Brien
The new host of the Tonight Show, Conan O'Brien paid us a visit.
Actually his Cleveland stop is part of a 31 city junket to promote the new Tonight Show host who takes over for Jay Leno this June.
I found him to be quite charming. I knew he was funny, but the way in which he moved throughout the building shaking hands and talking to every and anyone who came into his view was impressive.
I also learned he is incredibly smart. He was valedictorian of his high school graduating class and graduated "magna cum laude at Harvard University.
You might think this funny man has been telling jokes all his life...he told me "no."
He was actually somewhat shy as a kid and grew up with pretty strict rules and proper manners.
You can watch the "Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien" beginning June 1st.

I have to say that at 48, I find Conan's comedy to be a bit silly and childish for me. I know he's a smart guy and has worked hard to get where he is, but I just don't care for the ridiculous as comedy. I think it's a generational thing. Nowadays, thae whole 25 and under folks seem to prefer comedy that is more slapstick. What do you think?

Hey Lynn,
I must say...I felt the same as you at first.
I'm such a huge Leno fan...I had never really watched Conan...but then when I met him...I thought he was hilarious and so real!
I must admit some of the jokes are a bit sophmoric...but I'd say give him a chance.
