My night at the Rock Hall Inductions

Most of you know I said I would go in search of Legendary crooner Smokey Robinson during last Saturday nights Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductions. I didn't find Smokey, though he looked great on stage...however my husband bumped into inductee and Cleveland native, Bobby Womack!
I couldn't believe my eyes, returning from the ladies room and seeing Rodney talking to this incredible soulful singer whose music my Mom and Aunts would sway their hips to when I was a youngster.
I walked up with a huge grin to join in the conversation, waiting for Rodney to introduce me and he didn't! So, I extended my hand and introduced myself to Mr. Womack as he was being whisked away by a handler. I turned and asked my hubby, how come you didn't introduce me? Rodney replied;Who is he? I said you don't know who you were talking too? What were you talking about? I asked. He said; I just saw a guy in a fantastic coat and said... man that's nice! He said thanks and just started talking to me about how nice the Rock Hall event was.
I said that was "Bobby Womack!" Rodney was floored, he couldn't believe he stood their talking to a musical legend and didn't know it. Even though he was wearing a hat and sun glasses, his features are undeniable.
What an awesome event. I thought the entire event was spectacular, public hall was beautiful, the stage amazing and it showed Cleveland as the great city it can be.
I'm thrilled we had a national audience to witness what we Clevelanders already know.

I was in Florida and missed the entire weeks events. I would have loved to have met Bobby Womack and Smokey Robinson. Womack's soulful singing is stilled played on my dvd player today. Across 110th Street is one of my favorites.
