In 1880, a tornado near Marshall, Missouri, carried the heavy timbers of an entire home a distance of 12 miles.

In 1960, Stapleton International Airport in Denver, Colorado, reported its highest wind gust of 70 mph.

In 1988, a strong spring storm brought a foot of heavy snow to Pittsburg, Vermont, and produced severe thunderstorms that rained down baseball-size hail and spawned five tornadoes in the southern High Plains.
