News: May a little cooler, wetter than normal

CLEVELAND -- The month of May wound up being a little chillier than normal in the Greater Cleveland area.

According to records kept by the National Weather Service, the month of May will go down as 2.2 degrees cooler than the normal average of 56.3 degrees.

Our highest temperature during the month was 82 degrees on both May 26th and 31st.

The lowest temperature was 37 degrees on May 13th and then again on May 29th when a new record was set.

Precipitation wise, the Greater Cleveland area saw 4.17" of rain which was .67" wetter than the 30 year average. The National Weather Service reported 21 days during the month we saw at least a trace of rain.

And, yes, we did see a trace of snowfall during the month that occurred on May 2nd.
