News: Record Highs Tied in Cleveland, Youngstown

CLEVELAND -- Cleveland has tied its official record high for Friday.

At 3:17 p.m., the temperature reached 92 degrees at Cleveland Hopkins Airport, the official reporting station for Cleveland.

This ties the record high for today, set in 1988.

Youngstown also tied a record high at 3:16 p.m. as their temperatures reach 91 degrees.

The old record dates back to 1934.

CLEVELAND -- A third day of record setting temperatures across Northeast Ohio today - though most occurred shortly after midnight before the passage of the strong cold front that brought high winds to the area this morning.

New high temperature records were set today at the following locations:

61 degrees (tied the old record 61 in 1937)

Mansfield Lahm Airport
59 degrees (old record was 57 in 1965)

Youngstown Warren Regional Airport
64 degrees (old record was 61 in 1946)

Cleveland missed a new record high by one degree today topping out at 65 degrees. Several new high temperature records were set today at the following locations:

64 degrees (old record 63 in 1937)

Mansfield Lahm Airport
62 degrees (old record 60 in 1989)

Toledo Express Airport
62 degreees (tied old record 62 in 1965)

Youngstown Warren Regional Airport
66 degrees (old record 58 in 1965)

We tied a record high Tuesday afternoon in Cleveland, thanks to sunshine and a warm southwest wind flow.

Cleveland: Tied record of 88 degrees @ 3:54 PM - Old record was 88 in 1900.

Youngstown: New record of 91 degrees @2:52 PM - Old record was 84 degrees was in 1986.

Mansfield: New record of 88 degrees @3:08 PM - Old record was 86 degrees set in 1986.

Findlay: New record high 0f 89 degrees @ 2:38 PM - Old record was 88 degrees set in 1986.
