Rock Hall: Who is missing?
The list of inductees into the Rock Hall is long, but many fan-favorites haven't been enshrined yet.
Who else should be in? Why? Let us know using the comment link below.
Those giving their name and city may be mentioned on-air next weekend by Jeff Maynor.

Grass Roots is well deserving. Midnight Confessions and other Number 1s.... outstanding unique music.
Jimmy Buffett deserves to be in there. He's got a unique sound and a rock'n audience of parrotheads!
David Gates & Bread
Dave P.
Brook Park, Ohio
Does anyone remember Chubbie Checker? He was a GIANT in the early sixties.
Genesis deserves serious consideration as one of the primary art rock bands of the 70s (with Peter Gabriel), and then one of tbe biggest pop acts of the 80s and early 90s (with Phil Collins).
KISS by far is the most deserving of those who have not yet been inducted. They have had a tremendous influence on many modern bands that are popular today. KISS was one of the premiere bands that put rock and roll on the map, at least in its current form.
Wanda Jackson, Queen of Rock-a-Billy and former girlfriend of Elvis, has to be in the Rock Hall. She's a rock 'n' roll pioneer and nooned deserves it more!
Chicago should be in the Rock Hall. Just because they have an on-going feud w/Rolling Stone Magazine should not keep them out. They have sold millions & millions of records worldwide & after almost 40 years, still tour to sell-out crowds every year! Hey, Rolling Stone, let Chicago in!
I think that they have left Barry Manilow off the list for too long. His music is really too too to be left off the list that leaves him out of the Rock Hall
KISS is regarded as one of the most influential rock and roll bands of all-time. Their career milestones are staggering. KISS holds honors as one of America’s top gold record champions, recording 36 albums over 32 years selling over 75 million albums worldwide. They truely are "The Hottest Band In The World"
Chicago.
Top forty albums in every decade since the 60s. More hits than almost anyone else. A wide range of styles. Impeccible musicianship. Almost 130 million records sold.
Eligible for induction at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame since the early 1990s but the R&R hall of fame sucks and hasn't noticed.
Neil Diamond
The Funk Brothers have been overlooked, perhaps even forgotten, for years. They were in at the beginning, and were responsible for the "Mo-Town" sound.
The Raspberries should definately be there. They still have a huge fan base today.
Chicago belongs in the Hall as does Neil Diamond.
The Guess Who, and Emerson, Lake and Palmer.....definantly! >Shawn, Vermilion
Each year, when the list of inductees is announced, I'm flabbergasted that "Chicago" is not included. What's going on here?!!? This, the original "rock band with horns" has been performing for 39 years and their number of hits is legendary. Their exclusion is a travesty!
Chicago belongs in the Hall as does Neil Diamond
KISS, they are the greatest! They have got great music along with stage props and stuff when they perform. And everone loves when Gene Simmons spits blood and Paul Stanley goes flying out in to the audience.
Chicago should really be. their legendary rock bank with horns was a part of many of our lives. They have had music in 5 decades with the release of the new album xxx later this month. They are still out their touring the country every year with a large number of fans that flock to see them. but if you like pop, rock, or jazz, you always want to say take me back to chicago. because they are a hard habit to break. you're the inspiration to me!!!
One of the biggest bands to be missing from the Hall of Fame is CHICAGO. With their horns and the number of hits with records sold what is the story? Is there a reason why they are not there. This is one of the greatest groups around and they still tour. New album coming out in a week. One of the best.
The Moody Blues!
This year is their 40th Anniversary and they are still out there touring and playing to sold-out audiences.
Denise Reeves
The Moody Blues!
They are celebrating their 40th Anniversary and are currently touring and still playing to sold-out concerts.
chicago has had zillions of hitsand have never stopped touringor recording for the past 40 years plus thier a good old AMERICAN band
Chicago would be my pick. The leader in the mixture of horns with rock music and the most successful group in doing so makes this bands induction a no brainer. This band an inspiration to anyone who ever picked up and played a musical instrument.
Todd Rundgren; We Gotta Get You A Women,Love of the Common Man,Can't you see the Light, Songs with such meaning and heart are not written today,I don't believe Todd has Received the credits he deserves as a Song writer & producer,A Cleveland Favorite, like to see him in the hall if he's not there yet!
CHICAGO - nearly 40 years of hits, still touring, pioneers in adding brass to rock.
One band who definitely beongs in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame is Chicago. 39 years of great music, need I say more?
KISS is regarded as one of the most influential rock and roll bands of all-time. Their career milestones are staggering. KISS holds honors as one of America’s top gold record champions, recording 36 albums over 32 years selling over 75 million albums worldwide. They truely are "THE HOTTEST BAND IN THE WORLD"
KISS
It's unbelievable that the legendary and original Rock Band to include horns in their lineup CHICAGO has never been inducted into the RRHOF. They've sold over 120 million albums worldwide and have toured continuously for over 35 years. Their string of hits are well known by all baby boomers and there are young fans(many of whom are musicians themselves and appreciate the original arrangements of the early albums)who are now attending CHICAGO's annual tour dates. CHICAGO also has a large and loyal fan base who continue to support the band in many ways. There are even a number of us in NE Ohio who will not set foot in the RRHOF until this "political" injustice is corrected.

The Moody Blues, of course, why? I would think that if you have listened to some kind of rock on the radio in the last 4 decades you've heard what I personally think is the greatest band of our time.
thanks

Chicago DESERVES to be in! They have been a band for almost 40 years, with countless hit's!
Chicago
one of the most prolific bands in America
Still touring to sold out crowds
Releasing Album # 30 3/21/06
New single FEEL fits as a great contemporary song
These guys still ROCK!
The Moody Blues are certainly deserving.
Can any other group spell rock n roll like Grand Funk Railroad? Long over due!
Moody Blues -- innovators of symphonic rock -- have been shamefully ignored by the RRHoF committee. An oversight that needs to be corrected.
The Grass Roots? Get serious. That is teeny bop crap. You probably want the Archies in too. They had a Number 1 hit...
Paul Revere and the Raiders should be in the Rock Hall of Fame. They are still performing in Las Vegas and other areas.
I can't believe Chicago isn't in. They're original, unique and started a style all their own. Most deserving!!
Bobby Rydell was my favorite singer from the 60's. But the seventies are defined for me by Genesis, Kansas,Queen (which is honored), and Nazareth.
Cheap Trick deserves to be in the hall of fame. Their track record of 30 years plus of great albums, hits, shows ,premier openings for the Rock Hall, House of Blues, and Hard Rock Cafe should be enough!!! Also they continue to be a working band with a loyal following and deserve the recogniton. They have fans who have seen them anywhere from 56 times to 356+ times!
Laura J Howe.
You have to include 3 Dog Night. No group had more top 10 hits in the late 60's and early 70's.
Two of the most influential and talented bands, Deep Purple and UFO should have been inducted many years ago. Also, let's not forget about Iron Maiden.
CHICAGO IS MISSING THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME ISN'T COMPLETE UNTIL CHICAGO IS IN. THEY SHOULD HEAD THE LIST.
Chicago (The band) 5 number on albums, over 120 million albus sold. Others include Moody blues, ELO, ELP, Grand Funk Railroad (broke beatles record for sell-out at Shay Stadium).
The Moody Blues are celebrating their 40th year of rock and roll this year. They have sold over 55 million albums and still continue to tour. Talk about "Veteran Cosmic Rockers"!!
They have a long-standing and devoted group of fans. They should be in the RRHoF.
Sincerely,
Deb Harrington
Fort Myers, FL
The Moody Blues should definitely be inducted -- they have been creating music together for 40 years, have sold millions of albums and have millions of fans!
Chicago has been performing for five decades and had top 40 albums in all of those. They still put on a fantastic show and have sold over 100 million albums. They have influenced many artists and have performed on many other artists albums. They have over 40 top 40 singles, grammy awards, gold and platinum albums and some of the most passionate and allegiant fans in the USA. They should have gone in way before some of the other acts that are already in there.
The Moody Blues should have been inducted a long time ago. They are still going strong with a HUGE fan base.
The Moody Blues are missing! Very missing! Why does the RRHOF continue to include one-hit wonders and groups the like of Guns and Pistols?
The Moody Blues have created a massive amount of wonderful music. They are celebrating their 40th anniversary! What gives?
Thank you for this opportunity to comment and vent!
Lynne Rose
Chicago is deserves to be in there. They have had gold albums in every decade (including this one) since the 60's. They have a unique rock and jazz sound with the horns used as another voice.
Legendary, ground-breaking, awe-inspiring, evergreen MOODY BLUES. Frontman Justin Hayward is without doubt one of the most underrated singers/songwriters/guitarists of our time. Thanks for asking! :)
I think that the band "Def Leppard" should be in the Rock n Roll hall of fame. The band is extremely talented & has been in the music business since January of 1979. They have an amazing drummer who learned to play with one arm & still have wonderful sound like always. I really hope to see them get in into the Hall of Fame! Thank you, Sincerely, Cindy Needhamer
North Ridgeville, OH
kstofey
Leon Russell absolutely should be
there. He not only is a legend
for his concerts and recordings, Leon
is one of the best songwriters ever.
One of the most truly underrated
performers in the business.
THE MONKEES should have been inducted a long time ago. Their music is standing the test of time-their music is still being played today even after forty years!!!
Where is KISS? Are you kidding me? The have the most gold records of any american group, they have sold more than 80 million worldwide albums,Influenced thousands and they are still as popular today as they were in the '70's. For them not to be in the Hall of Fame really makes the Rock hall look bad.
Chris Fryfogle
Alliance,Ohio
KISS should be in the rock hall without a doubt.Thirty years and still going strong with millions of records sold and legions of fans.Rock and roll all night and party every day-enough said.
Chicago should be in!
Absolute top pick....The Moody Blues. What does the RRHOF have against them anyway?!!!
The Hollies
Dave Clark Five
The Hollies
Jan & Dean
John Mellencamp
NEIL DIAMOND
Neil Diamond is a fantastic singer and songwriter. He should be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
The Moody Blues. Really...Take a look at what they've done!
I think Michael Stanley should be in there considering he is well known in Cleveland and does alot for Cleveland.
The Moody Blues!!! Been around 40 years and STILL are touring and producing new music. Still selling out concerts!
three dog night deserve to be inducted - we can all think of numerous hits they have had over the years
Chicago deserves to be in there. The group has been together for a long time and the songs are known by everyone.
The hottest band in the world...
KISS!
well, obviously the Moody Blues should be in.I don't know what the deal is, but I will never go to the Rock Hall until they are inducted. It is ridiculous to think that a band that has never had bad press or any Drug or alcohol problems could be left out. Thanks
KISS should be inducted for their influence on many of the modern day bands
Chicago should have been inducted long ago ... more than 120 million albums sold worldwide, dozens of top 40 hits over a nearly 40-year career (and still touring and recording new music).
How can you have a R&R HOF without Chicago? 30 albums? Dozens of hits spanning 5 decades? The influential rock band with horns and the innovative guitar of Terry Kath?
Chicago should be in there. Period. To see the Bee Gees in, and Chicago out makes me question the integrity of the Hall's decision makers. Not that the Bee Gees SHOULDN'T be there; just that they're there and Chicago isn't.
The rock group Hawkwind is must for the hall of fame.
The one and only President of Margaritaville....Jimmy Buffett! He has been selling out his shows in record time for over 30 years. He has a sound and following like no other performer today.
There is no doubt that our Canadian bands are not represented in the Rock Hall. Rush has been around for 35 years for a reason. Also Triumph, Bachman Turner Overdrive, and the Guess Who need to be seriously considered and then inducted.
The one and only President of Margaritaville...JIMMY BUFFETT! He has been selling out his shows for over 30 years. He has a sound and loyal following like no other performer today.
HEY CHANNEL 3 ~
I believe that BARRY MANILOW should be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. He has entertained us with his great music for many, many years. He is well-deserving of this honor!
Thank you,
Joanie Thompson
Solon, OH
KISS should be there. More than 85 million albums sold. Broke attendence records set by the Beatles and Elvis. Second only to the Beatles in gold record awards as a group. Pioneered corporate rock. Influenced many Hard rock and Heavy Metal acts. Defined what a live album should sound like with the release of Kiss Alive in 1975.
Herman's Hermits have many hits and Peter Noone is still performing and entertaining to this day.
Johnny and the Hurricanes, Sandy Nelson, and the Ventures were three popular musical groups along with Bill Dogett a R&B musician from the late 50"s that were very popular.
Just plain musical groups were very hard to continue with their staying power, but all these performers did it. I believe they belong in the rock hall.
RUSH IS DESERVING OF ROCK HALL INDUCTION. THE BAND HAS CONSISTANTLY PUT OUT 30 PLUS YEARS OF GREAT MUSIC.THEY ARE RIGHT UP THERE WITH THE STONES, ZEPPELIN,AEROSMITH,AND OTHER GREAT BANDS THAT ARE ALREADY IN THE HALL. THEY DESERVE TO BE THERE ABOVE ALOT OF OTHERS THAT ARE IN ALREADY.
The Moody Blues are clearly deserving. By any measuring stick, other than personal taste, they meet all the criteria. (Sales, longevity, touring, unique sound, etc. )
Who isn't missing. They were inducted in 1990.
I can name many artists that have never been nominated. The list is an amazing who's who :
Genesis, Chicago, Grand Funk Railroad, Moody Blues, Neil Diamond, Cher, Frank Sinatra,
Linda Ronstadt, Styx, Paul Anka, Neil Sedaka, Kool & The Gang, Commodores, Three Dog Night, Hall & Oates, Deep Purple, Perry Como,Dionne Warwick, Olivia Newton John,Barbara Streisand,Tommy James & Shondells,Kenny Rogers, Glen Campbell,Heart,5th Dimension,John Denver, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Chubby Checker, Alice Cooper, The Cars, Pat Boone, Pat Benatar,Tom Jones, Hermans Hermits and of course Barry Manilow. There are many more as well. I think it would be great if the public could vote for one inductee each year. I offered that suggestion to Terry Stewart but he has a deaf ear to anything the public thinks. New York runs the show and Cleveland won't even fight for the right to stage the induction ceremonies. I believe as long as the dinosaurs run our museum, the rock hall will not be accepted by the majority of Clevelanders. My vote by the way goes to the Guess Who
CHICAGO - the quality sound, the hits, the number of albums (30), the longevity, innovative, musical diversity, quality musicians, quality people. no suprise they are still touring after 36 years. This should be a no-brainer for the Rock Hall.
from Phil Bentley / Atlanta
Carol King and Neal Sedaka, both were major song writers for major acts, from mid 60s to mid 70s they changed the face of music! They were great singers as well!
Rush--They have influenced many of todays bands, but are not getting the recognition they deserve.
Chubby Checker had the entire "world" twisting, and they twisted in almost every 60's movie..so why isn't he in? When he appeared at the local Giant Eagle a couple years ago, there sure was a long line to get his autograph and photo!
Have to say the Moody Blues. Not many bands can boast the longevity they have, as well as the mulit-generational following they continue to inspire. Nearly all the venues they play are sold-out and the fans are still asking for more. Their songs "speak" to the heart from the heart. These guys are long overdue for induction.
Chicago. One of the most influential bands of the late 60's-early 70's. Of course, when they choose to induct "bands" like the Sex Pistols, I'm not so sure I'd care to see them in the same company.
How about Chicago? They have a lot more albums and hit songs than some acts already inducted.
The Moody Blues are wayyyyy overdue. They were a huge influence in the progressive rock genre, and their unique sound has never been duplicated. They have a large fan base, and are still touring and as good as ever after forty years. The fact that they have never been nominated for induction is a disgrace, to say the least!
The Moody Blues have beeen writing and performing rock 'n' roll for 40 years - they belong in the Hall of Fame!
let see whos missing
Moody Blues
Yes
Greatful Dead
Blue Oyster Cult
Rush
Kiss
Electric Light Orchestra
The Monkees
that is just to name a few....since I'm on vacation in Florida I can't get at my records to do it justice
Personally I think that the rock hall is a overprice Joke!! It certainly wasn't what I expected to see the 2 times I've been there.
Beth Diederich
North Ridgeville, Ohio
Plainly & simply: Chicago.
What about Neil Diamond? He has been writing. recording, and performing for more than 30 years and he can still fill a concert hall with or without his sequined shirts.
Ok-----with a body of musical work 40 years long, a concert schedule that still has sell-outs, and estimates of 55 to 80 million copies sold for their albums, why can't those who vote for entry into the RRHOF vote for The Moody Blues?
CHICAGO is very deserving of induction! Over 120 million albums sold, most talented horn section EVER, still touring after 39 years, and a brand new CHICAGO XXX (30) due out on March 21st. Their early music is classic, and they play it better than ever nowdays. Watch their Arie Crown Theater performance on DVD or their Greek Theater performance with Earth, Wind and Fire. 35 years of hits between the two performances!!
Amboy Dukes
Ted Nugent
Kiss
Rush
The Moody Blues
The Tubes
BTO
These are a few off the top of my head but there are so many more. One more thing, the induction ceremonies need to be moved to Cleveland and STAY in Cleveland.
Richard Gusky

Defintly, most definetly the progressive rockband YES!!!!
This band has been around now for 37 years and is way way overdue this recognision.
What this band has presented us with in music through their various line-ups, from the classic epics on "Close to the Edge", "Tales from Topographic Oceans" and "Relayer" to the sale shattering modern Yes of the 80's with "90125" and "Owner of a Lonely Heart" has been nothing short of stunning, imaculate and never seen and heard before or after and that goes for the musicianship of all members through their history as well. All belong to the best in their field, then and now.
Failing to recognize the importance is faling to recognize the importance of a whole music genre and a whole collective of impressive music and musicians, so therefore YES should be in the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame!!
YES should be in there. They pioneered a sound and style unlike any other that is sorely under represented in the RRHOF.
Brian Wilson
Concord, CA.
I truly feel that because of 10 years of music and keeping alive with the biggest underground fan base the Insane Clown Posse should be in the rock hall.. They have proved that the underdogs can survive in the music business. They have proved that with good marketing skills and music skills they are still going strong with a fan base of nearly 100,000 strong. They got no radio play and a little MTV play they were still able to gain a fan base that is loyal and a merchandise base larger than any other group.
Thanks

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Van Halen. They were one of the most influential rock bands from the lae 70's thru early 90's, no matter who their lead singer was. I also believe Kiss & Chicago are deserving as well.
YES
yes
The Osmonds are not inducted yet either. Donny Osmond should have been inducted years ago. He has always been a rock icon and has persevered for 35 years and 54 albums. C'mon panel - give him his just rewards.
P.S. I agree with Neil Diamond and Chicago as well
Genesis!
Art rock pioneers who were able to roll with the changes in musical tastes, as well as changes in personnel to make great music for more than 30 years.
-Amy
um duh?... the QUEEN OF ROCK AND ROLL!!!
WANDA JACKSON!!!
Yes. It's been too long a snub. The body of Yes work over 35 years combined with their continual touring, seven straight years since '97 alone, is reason enough. It's too bad progressive rock music as a genre is ignored by the dopes at the R&RHOF.
CHICAGO ==> Way overdue!!
It is not worthy of being called "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" without the inclusion of any progressive rock bands. To ignore an entire genre of rock destroys any credibility of this so called institution. The first of these bands to be entered should/must be Yes, followed quickly by King Crimson and Genesis. I also agree with earlier submissions that Chicago and the Moody Blues should be enshrined. No Yes, no R&R Hall of Fame for me.
The group CHICAGO is missing from the Rock n Roll hall of fame!!
Rhondi in Wa State
1) Chicago
2) The Doobie Brothers
3) The Moody Blues
The Moody Blues should've been in there a long time ago. Chicago, too.
What Yes did for progressive rock knows no boundaries. All elements of this band of this groundbreaking band were and are always top notch. They wrote the bible with the albums The Yes Album, Fragile, Close To The Edge and Tales From Topographic Oceans. The worldwide commercial fame of the 1983 album 90125 was a royal desert.
It's beyond comprehension that a band like Yes has not been inducted when you consider some of the acts that have been inducted. In any event, until pioneering bands such as Yes, Genesis, Moody Blues, (not to mention the Grateful Dead and Doobies on this side of the pond), are inducted I don't consider the RRHF to be legitimate.
Chicago The Band should be in R&RHoF. Long over due. They have inspired love, loss and everything in between for 30 years. It is time!
Definitely Chicago! Incredible variety of quality music performed over 4 decades. Their creativity never stops.
Yes.
Yes have been going since 1969 and have been pioneers of the progressive rock movement of the early seventies and have been inspirational to numerous bands since. They deserve this. Just the quality of the current line up in my opinion, is merit enough.
So many great bands have been mentioned here, and all are worthy.
Top Three:
MOODY BLUES (released first concept albums ever done)
BTO
DOOBIE BROTHERS
The band YES should have been in the hof years ago. They took progressive rock to a new level and kept in going to today. It seems that progressive rock is an overlooked subject..Where's YES,elp, genesis, king crimson, even deep purple
Seems to be a bias to this platform of music......
I think Chicago deserves to be in the Hall of Fame, simply because they are true musicians in every sense of the word.
Sylvia Robinson, of Sugarhill Records. Sugarhill was the first label to put out rap records, beginning with the Sugar Hill Gang's "Rapper's Delight," in 1979. Sugarhill Records is to rap/hip hop what Sun Records is to rock and roll.
RUSH !!!!!!!!! Did we forget????
KISS started the way concerts have been staged for over the last 30 years!
Every so-called pop star now uses pyrotechnics, fire, confetti in their concernts.
KISS was so new and different in the 70's, they really were ahead of their time.
That's not even mentioning the great songs - I mean, how can a Rock Hall not induct a band that wrote "(I Want to )Rock-n-Roll All Nite"? I ask you!
:)
Yes, King Crimson, Gentle Giant, Jethro Tull, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, Focus and Emerson Lake and Palmer.
These guys can all play circles around the vast majority of the inductees. It's about time that the Hall recognized real musicians rather than punk posers.
I think Chicago deserves to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They've been going strong for almost 40 years and have had hits in every decade. They are the ultimate rock and roll band!!
Mark Messier is the #2 scorer of all time in the NHL. Do you think he'll be in the Hockey Hall of Fame?
Wilt Chamberlain is the #2 scorer in NBA history. Do you think he belongs in the Basketball Hall of Fame?
Walter Payton is the #2 rusher in NFL history. Do you think he belongs in the Football Hall of Fame?
And, of course, Babe Ruth is the #2 home run hitter of time. Do you think he belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame?
Chicago (the band) is the #2 charting American band of all time. THIS IS ACCORDING TO BILLBOARD MAGAZINE!!! Do you think they belong in the rock and roll hall of fame? (I can't capitalize this entity until they legitimitize themselves.)
YES is my top nomination. They've been together for 37 years, albeit with some lineup changes. They produced some of the all-time classic "prog rock" albums. In the 80's they produced some more pop oriented albums, featuring Owner of a Lonely Heart, Rhythym of Love, and other hits. As recently as 2004 they still toured playing the classic prog numbers like Close to the Edge, Revealing Science of God, Roundabout, as well as songs from their most recent (2000) album, Magnification. Excellent musicianship, beautiful arrangements, and the unmistakable voice of Jon Anderson are just a few of the quality attributes of this band. And they can rock hard!
In a word..
YES!! I can't believe its been this long, they've never been nominated. What a travesty.
YES should be there without a doubt, arguably they are the best musicians in rock; also the Moody Blues, Badfinger and the Guess Who have each made great contributions and also influenced others (Yes certainly did that,too)--there should be some public input allowed or it doesn't count for much.
Definetly Yes! The whole progressive music scene is overlooked by the R&RHOF and Yes are pioneers of progressive rock, not to mention that some of the best musicians in the world are and have been in Yes!
YES !
Because it's a shame they're not in.
I think, that it is really time to introduce the band Yes into the hall of fame. This band develoed progressive rock like no other. And there music stands the test of time. A Bravo to Chris Squire, Jon Anderson and Co.
Peter from Cologne
CHICAGO! CHICAGO! CHICAGO! CHICAGO!
They belong right beside The Beatles, Rolling Stones, and Elvis!
No other band has ever displayed the musical talent nor the vast range of rock and roll, from Terry Kath's hard driving and soulful guitar and vocals, to Robert Lamm's genius lyrics and smooth voice, to Peter Cetera's heart wrenching ballads. And best of all is the fabulously tallented horn section! Go Jimmy, Lee and Walt!! 39 YEARS!!!
Without inviting Chicago into the Hall of Fame, MILLIONS of fans will not endorse the Hall's very existance. When finally in, its patronage will skyrocket.
YES
Their musicianship is far beyond any of the other bands listed here. They were a huge rock band in the 70's and they've been making some of the most interesting, catchy music ever since. They're much better than circus acts like KISS. If some think KISS should get inducted for 3-chord songs, then YES should definitely get inducted for their exploration of music, pushing music to its limits while still making popular rock songs.
Yes - The are kings of their Genere..This statement from the ALL MUSIC GUIDE says it I think....."Far and away the longest lasting and the most successful of the '70s progressive rock groups, Yes proved to be one of the lingering success stories from that musical genre. The band, founded in 1968, overcame a generational shift in its audience and the departure of its most visible members at key points in its history to reach the end of the century as the definitive progressive rock band. Where rivals such as Emerson, Lake & Palmer withered away commercially after the mid-'70s, and Genesis and King Crimson altered their sounds so radically as to become unrecognizable to their original fans, Yes retained the same sound, and performed much of the same repertory that they were doing in 1971; and for their trouble, they found themselves being taken seriously a quarter of a century later. Their audience remains huge because they've always attracted younger listeners drawn to their mix of daunting virtuosity, cosmic (often mystical) lyrics, complex musical textures, and powerful yet delicate lead vocals."
Put em in!!
Yes is one of the greatest rock bands from the 70s, who continued to flourish throughout the 80's and 90's. The musicianship in Yes is amazing and they are some of the most talented and popular musicians in their category. They have continued touring and writing throughout the late 90s and early 2000s and remain one of the greatest prog rock bands of all time. Yes deserves to be in the Hall of Fame!
For sheer musicality Yes should be included. It is an insult that they have not been thus far. All the Sex Pistols can do is give a two-fingered salute - which is their perogative: at least they were nominated. YES, beyond and before, always were, still are and forever will be number one, even without the RRHoF.
In a word: YES!
It is beyond believe that such class musicians, each and everyone of them a master in their own field and when combined so much more then just the som of their parts, haven't been in like since 10 years ago!
agree chicago& grand funk;also hollies;grassroots;guess who.
There are so many bands missing from this place that deserve to be there!
YES
Rush
KISS
Sabbath
Styx
Kansas
Tull
Moody Blues
Maiden
=VH=
Journey
Supertramp
among MANY others...
But first and foremost it is a crime that YES are not there...they are the most durable and significant progressive rock band of all. The primary players in the band over the years are ICONS of the musical world...singer-Jon Anderson... Guitarists Steve Howe and Trevor Rabin...Bassist Chris Sqire...Keyboardists Rick Wakeman and Tony Kaye..Drummers Bill Bruford & Alan White....some of the finest musicians in Rock history....every rock fan knows at least a few Yes tunes: I've Seen All Good People, Roundabout, Owner Of A Lonely Heart (just to name a few)! Come on Hall Of Fame...live up to your name!
After 37 years of fantastic music from various line ups Yes should be inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of shame, well thats the standing joke when you see one of the finest bands getting snubbed year after year, makes the RARHOF look like a bad joke.
Its about time this was put right, I,m sure in 200 years from now, thier music will still be heard which I cant say about lots of music you hear now
Yes should be inducted into the Hall. Every one of these superb musicians is a master of their craft, and they do what any great rock band of any era does, they break the rules.
Their material is always compelling and flawlessly executed with an abundance of emotionalism.
The Syn, 40 year history, started the Prog movement, became Yes, now back again with an amazing cd called Syndestructible.
There's no question Yes should be in the RRHoF. They surpass any reasonable gatekeeper criteria and deserve the recognition. It's time.....
with so many bands deserving of this honor it is truly hard to come up with just one. but there is just one that I fell is most deserving of this and it's YES. The most talented musicians playing the most diverse and mindblowing music in rock history.
Yes is the most overlooked band deserving of HOF admittance.
They have been around for 37 years now, and defined progressive rock in the 70's . . . their music continues to evolve through the years, constantly exploring new territory.
In essence, they are the epitome of progressive rock, and deserve to be recognized for their innovative music which stands the test of time, and has been an inspiration to MANY modern bands!

Please tell me why YES is not in the hall of fame? Well over 35 million records sold. A sell out record in Madison Square Garden. They actually created a genre of rock music and yet they are ignored?
Some "Hall of Fame"!

Neil Diamond he's been popular since the early 70's and has written many songs that are the foundation for other musicians and groups. His concerts are always sold out and others have to be added because of his large fan base. Gail, Gary & Jan longtime Blue Jean Fans
YES!!!Without a doubt should be in.
YES!!!!! There is no greater Progressive Rock band. Progressive rock bands have been completely ignored by the Hall! Why is that? Yes's day is loooonnnnggggggg overdue!
To me, Yes, the Moody Blues and Chicago should all be in. Talk about influential bands! All pioneers in expanding rock and all still going strong and pleasing their fans.

Yes deserve to be recognized for their quality, contributions, and influences to music over the decades.
There's no doubt, no doubt.
YES! Their work is stunning, to say the least. They are the best prog-rock band to ever set foot on a stage anywhere in the world.
For so many years of his music, both singing and writing, I have always wondered why NEIL DIAMOND has not been inducted. He is still very active and puts on a fantasic concert.
Yes
King Crimson
Iggy Pop and the Stooges
The Runaways
Also,
Captain Beefheart and the Magic Band
Alice Cooper
MC5
Without a doubt . . . YES!
They are long overdue for this recognition of their importance in Progressive Rock, their artistry, and their musicianship. They can still write, play, and sing circles around many R&R Hall of Famers. That they have yet to be included, even after their succesfull 35th anniversary tour, is a travesty.
Alice Cooper
Thin Lizzy
Gee, let's see.....
* first rock band to record in
stereo.
* first to merge rock-n-roll with
a full orchestra.
* developed the concept album to
greater degree/success than any
other band.
* created elaborate album
packaging, gatefold sleeves,
lyric booklets, etc.
* first band to introduce the
mellotron to rock-n-roll.
* invented electronic drum kit
years before the Simmons kit
became popular.
* first rock band invited to
perform in China.
* ASCAP awards for songs and Ivor
Novello awards for contributions
to music.
* all albums have earned gold or
platinum staus, some from pre-
sales alone.
* conservative estimate 65-85
million albums sold.
* still songwriting, still record-
ing, still touring after 40+
years in the business.
Few artists in rock can match the combined popularity and longevity of THE MOODY BLUES. In my opinion, they are the most deserving of the never-nominated bands.
What a disgrace to the Rock Hall for not including them!
The band Yes. That should be embarrassingly obvious.
By all means YES ,as well as Chicago,Moody Blues ,Steely Dan ,Rush, and ELP
