I want to thank Casey for being the person he was. I heard him speak at a Northeast Catholic men's meeting a year or so ago and he was truly engaging. It was wonderful to hear how he had overcome alcoholism and really turned to his Catholic heritage again. He was an inspiration to all who heard him speak. God has now gained a sportscaster emeritus. Our prayers are with the family.
Today, one of Cleveland's icons has rounded third and is safe at home. Casey Coleman dead at only 55 yrs. old from pancreatic cancer. As a kid growing up in Boston,Mass. I listened to his dad Ken Coleman announce the Red Sox and I can tell you father and son came from the same mold. Not only were they great broadcasters, they were great human beings. Today let's morn the loss of our friend Casey and for eternity let's celebrate his life!
SO VERY SAD INDEED. i REMEMBER CASEYS DAD AND NOW I'M SURE BOTH OF THEM ARE "ROUNDIN THIRD AND HEADIN HOME!"
Casey was truly a inspiration to many and lifted so many hearts. I remember before the Browns season this year, me and my family attended a brown pre-season game against the Chicago Bears. As we were down getting autographs on the field, here came Casey Coleman, with a bookbag and a look of feeling "at home." I sure will miss Casey and may god bless his family and everyone who has been touched by this angel!
I grew up watching and listening to Casey. He's the epitome of Cleveland pride, and that's why I loved listening to him. After I left the area, I often tuned into wtam.com to listen to him, as it reminded me of home. He will surely be missed.

I have a picture of my son with Casey at the Brown's Backers Dinner -circa 1987.
We'll always remember the type of person he was, and what he meant to the City.
He is now safe at home.
He will be missed.
I REMEMBER LISTENING TO CASEY BROADCAST FOR ALOT OF YEARS. HE BROUGHT SUCH LIFE TO THE GAMES HE WAS BROADCASTING. I PASSED HIM A FEW TIMES WHILE WORKING AT THE BROWNS STADIUM AND HE ALWAYS SPOKE IN SUCH A FRIENDLY MANNER IT WAS A JOY SEEING AND SPEAKING TO HIM. HE WILL BE MISSED. MY PRAYERS GO WITH HIM AND HIS FAMILY. GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU.
I am so sad to hear that Casey had died at such a young age. i truly loved watching Casey on Newscenter 8 every day. he will be truly missed. I wish his family the best in everything and i am so sorry to hear about there loss. Casey we love you!!!!
I had the privilage of being one of Casey's journalism students at Cuyahoga Community College-Western Campus. He always brought a smile to my face and he always managed to crack a joke. He nicknamed me Middlefield because I live in Middlefield. I remember the days that he took our class to the WTAm studios to use the equipment. My heart goes out to his family, and i will never forget him. he was such an inspiration to me, and we were always close. i just wish I could have gotten the chance to talk to him one more time before he passed away. We'll never forget you Casey, and thank you for being such an inspiration.
I wanted to comment on what an inspiration Casey was to everyone. He showed such dignity in the face of diversity. I lost both my parents and my brother to cancer (all different forms of cancer) and I understand what his family is going through now, except his death is so much more public. My prayers are with them to help them get through this trying time.
I had the privilage of being able to call Casey family. He was a truely wonderful man. He will be missed by all of us. It's a sad day in Cleveland.
So sad to hear of Casey Coleman's passing. I always loved hearing and watching him covering sports. I will truly miss his smiling face. My thoughts and prayers are with his family in this sad time, but have some comfort in how much he was loved and touched the lives of others. What a great human being.
I would like to say how sorry I am to hear that Casey has passed on. My heart is filled with sadness for his family. I also lost a good friend today from my job. I hope that his family will have comfort in knowing that Casey is in a much better place and is not in anymore pain. I am glad to have been able to enjoy hearing his voice.
I was working at Jacobs Field this past spring, helping to get things prepared for the home opener. I paused for a bit during the hustle of activity to observe the press conference going on regarding the new season.
The local media took their seats in the lower level of the Terrace Club and Mr. Dibiasio started the
conference. While he was talking, I noticed out of the corner of my eye a middle aged man shuffling in from the hallway.
I looked at this man with the tired gait. He was middle-aged, slender with grey hair. He was wearing sneakers and a well-worn Indians jacket. He had a weak, unsteady look about him. At first I thought he was someone who had just wandered in from the street.
He stood quietly at the back of the room, preferring not to come closer and take a seat in spite of
the fact that he looked like he needed to sit and rest. It was obvious that he didn't want to interrupt the press conference or call attention to himself.
As I watched him longer, I realized that it was Casey Coleman.
He stood silently at the back of the room until the press conference was over. Afterwards I walked over and gave him a hug and some words of encouragement. It was a humbling experience for me to see this legend of Cleveland broadcasting, whom I'd watched for so many years, clearly fighting so hard to be able to remain upright and smile. I came away from that brief meeting with the sense that I had seen real courage and determination of a type that I hadn't encountered before.
I will never forget him or that moment. My thoughts are with his family.
This note is an expression of sympathy regarding the loss of Casey Coleman. A member of my family died of Pancreatic Cancer.
It is defintely an overwhelming experience for which you are never quite the same. Therefore, I know Casey's spiritual presence will forever be felt on the fields of the Cleveland sports teams.
The Casey Coleman Family,
He left us with a heart full of good memories.like casey said. Its not what you take with you its
what you leave behind. Casey will be missed sooo, he was a great Broadcaster and inspiration to all who knew him. My Prayers Are With The Colman Family.
I had the great privilege of meeting Casey Coleman at Jacob’s Field on the field before a game with the Milwaukee Brewers. We sat in the Indians dugout and talked baseball and I had a picture taken with him. It’s a moment I’ll always remember. For being a big time reporter, he treated me like one of the guys. He was very genuine and was a real treat for me to be able to talk to him like an old buddy. I’ll always treasure that moment as well as the picture taken with him.
My sincere condolences on the loss of such a wonderful man and legend in Cleveland. He will be missed by all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with Casey's family. God Bless, Casey and we'll never forget you.
To the Coleman Family ~ May God continue to bless you as you mourn the loss of your husband and father. Know that he is at peace and no longer suffering. He is watching over you and will guide you throughout your journey here on Earth. God Bless.

In a business where people come and go on what seems like a daily basis Casey was someone who found his way into the hearts and lives of all Cleveland sports fans, forever leaving a footprint on this city and on us. A true professional, a wonderful talent, and a great person. Casey has rounded third and is safe at home now.
I had the chance to meet Casey at Canal Park (Akron Aeros) over the summer.
As an avid Brown's fan my husband and I appreciated Casey's devotion to the Browns. We admired him even more for being so open an honest about his alcoholism. My husband is a recovering alcoholic (30 years sober)and felt that Casey was a shining light to those who struggled to stay sober. He touched so many lives that only heaven will reveal. Our prayers are with his wife and kids. May God sustain them through this difficult time. Judy & Jim

We here at Union Capital Mortgage want to thank Casey and his family for being part of our family. Casey was our spokesperson for the Fox High School Athlete of the week program. We are a local Mortgage Banker based in Mentor, Ohio. Casey would not accept any monetary compensation for his efforts because he appreciated the loans we did for him and his family. We all got to know him and he always left a lasting impression on anyone he met. He loved Cleveland and was very loyal and proud of the city. He is the perfect man to represent our home and business. He will be sorely missed. God Bless you Casey for doing so much for so many. You always made a difference.
Sincerely,
Ronald M. Szuch

In an era when sports superstars are so often an utter disappointment, I would like to sincerely thank Casey and his family for showing us grace under pressure under very difficult circumstances. He was truly a role model and I'm saddened that the Browns chose the day after to embarrass themselves as an organization and a city on national TV. My heartfelt prayers are with the family and closest friends of a truly great man. There is no doubt that he is healthy and happy in a much better place.
