State of the Union: Will you cut back on your driving?
Tuesday night in his State of the Union speech, President Bush called for America to use less oil.
Would you consider cutting back on gasoline usage to help ween the U.S. off of imported oil?

I WOULD CONSIDER IMPEACHING HIM.. HE JUST DOESN'T GET IT.. IT IS A NO WIN SITUATION IN IRAQ AND HE IS THE DEVIL IN DISGUISE
The Bush Family is trash, and so is the oil industry.
If bush is so concerned about the military, maybe he should go back to Natl Guard and serve real time in front lines of Iraq, send his daughters to serve there also. See how honorable and faithful he really is. Maybe we can also stop the Pharmaceuticals from killing us from their prescriptions, and deadly drugs, maybe the oil companies can back off on such huge profits and give people fair prices. Lets stop spending Wasteful Tax Dollars on Wars throughout history, Spend it on Roads, Education, If we could be so educated - we could truly see the Federal Reserve & IRS are so fake! The Elderly! Let the Truth Really be Heard!
a whole lot of nothing is all i heard. just saying what he thinks the people want to here. time to impeach him IMO.
Ok, so if you impeach Bush, then Cheney would become president. I would rather see someone come up with ideas rather than blaming Bush for everything. It is always easy to pass blame, but harder to come up with a real solution. How do we handle Iraq at this point. If we pull the troops out, will someone else take over who will then decide to bomb us or not? Why don't we have Congress and the White house accept wage freezes to help pay for expenses that are over and above?
So what if the oil companies are making money now- some years back when oil prices were very low, they were losing money. We live in a capitalist society where people and companies are entitled to make a living. If you don't want to pay a lot of gas, then 1) buy a fuel efficient car, 2) drive at a reasonable speed- not 70 or 80 miles a hour which will burn fuel faster, 3) consider alternative means of transport- bus, walk, bike or 4) buy a hybrid.
Yes. I have already cut back on gasoline usage- I only drive to and from work- and I am trying to find a job closer to home so I can use even less fuel. I drive a fuel efficent car and drive evenly so as not to waste fuel. I am sure that if a lot of people bought midsize and fullsize cars instead of SUV's, we could all make a difference. Perhaps, if companies were offered a rax incentive for telecommuting employees, we could also reduce gas usage. Granted not every job would be able to take advantage of telecommuting, but I am sure there are several positions that could be handled that way. I think the best way to take the wind out of the sails of some of the terrorist and terrorist want to be's ( Chavez) is to reduce our need for oil and conversely, their ability to hurt us- or at least with fuel.
