I don't think so at all..I've read the comparison where another driver was sentenced to less time for the same offense.... didn't this lady kill two people.. double the time....
No I do not think it's too harsh. We have drunk drivers becasue we allow it! Obviously, drunk drivers are not afraid of the law.
She did kill two people. She was drunk. She was driving the wrong way on the highway. Twenty years is fair!
When you get behind the wheel of a vehicle while under the influence and your actions kill another person(s), you should be accountable. While she didn't kill these people intentionally, she STILL KILLED THEM! You can't do just a few years of time behind bars for destroying their future and forever altering the lives of the people who loved them. 20 years is not enough as far as I'm concerned.
Letting her out early solves nothing, she killed two people and destroyed their families and hers if she had one
OVI should be so serious and harsh that it scares people so badly they are afraid to drive drunk. 20 years, HA. I say give her life of hard labor. News media should show the public just how hard and tough prison is.
She was drunk! She killed 2 people and I think both of their parents think their lives were worth more than only 10 years (20 total). She should also have to go to their graves every year and reflect on what she did.
Well, geez, let's see....20 years of her life for two she snuffed out in an instant for her wreckless behavior...seems fair to me!!!
No i do not think that is a harsh punishment. She killed 2 people and she needs to spend life in prison. How is that all the people involved in car accidents get off easy. It seems like the people who cause the accident never get hurt but always the people who did not cause it die. That is not right. There are too many people causing accidents and killing other people. This lady needs to serve her 20 years or longer.

I will be seen as being too harsh -I see nothing wrong with capital punishment for someone who becomes impaired with alcohol and takes a life. Doesn't the act of drinking and then driving constitute pre-meditated murder???
20 years! She should get life. I'm belive in an eye for an eye. Also, if the tables were turned and it was a member of her family that was killed, she would want the 20 years if not more.
Too harsh? I would gladly contribute my tax dollars to seeing her in jail for life.
20 years is not long enough.This women took 2 lives doing something that is in the news daily,(drinking and driving)it's not as if every person in the country has not seen and or heard daily the outcome of drinking and driving and yet we continue to coddle these people.I say capital punishment if you take a life while driving intoxicated.If the punishment is not harsh then why would drinkers follow the law.
i do not think so. she should have life in prison. she knew she was doing wrong when she sat in the car after drinking - or even before she started. what is wrong with people?? i dont only feel this way because i knew the couple but it is just completely wrong !!!! my ex brother in law has been in and out of jail - for drinking and driving - with and with out his kid in the car - not only that, he has totalled many of his own cars while intoxicated and he only received a slap on the wrist. he has been taken to the hospital and given blood tests and he insists on suing the police department since they had the blood tests taken without his authorization. come on, he knows he was wrong but is looking to turn the tables and take the spotlight off of his situation......i am also upset with the judge in letting him slip away with out any time or serious punishment......only jail time. still has his license and still does the same thing. thank goodness he has never injured someone or killed anyone. i think that drinking and driving should be considered as attempted murder. think about it. i am sorry if someone does not agree with me but that is my opinion and thought.
20 years is long enough if not long enough if one of her family members got killed by a drunk driver I can imagine she would want that person to pay! This is the reason we keep having problems with drunk driving court systems not handing down long enough/serious enough sentences.
20 years for taking the lives of 2 innocent people that were just starting their lives together by a woman who CHOSE to drink and drive is not too harsh! I don't understand the justice system at all. They are way too easy on the offenders. They will go to jail for a few years, get out and continue with the same behavior while the victims and/or their families suffer a lifetime of pain! Maybe if the judges experienced it first hand they would understand.....

NO WAY! I think she should get at least 50-60 years. She killed 2 people while she was drunk. If someone goes out and shoots two people and kills them, they would get a much harsher punishment than 20 years. She should have thought twice before getting behind the wheel when she was drunk.
I think she should be lucky she only got 20 years,If it was up to me and a lot of the other people she would have gotten LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think that she should spend the rest of her life in prison!! We dont need people like her on our streets!

No, I don't think the sentence was too harsh. On the contrary, I don't think it was harsh enough! She took the lives of a young couple who had their entire lives ahead of them. We keep seeing more and more of these stories and I think it's horrible. The message should be clear...if you choose to drink and drive and you take innocent lives by those actions, you will suffer the consequences. She did not just take two lives, she changed the lives of everyone who loved them forever! I think life in prison would be a very fair sentence!
It is a shame that the people she killed were only worth 10 years apiece. I'm sure their family have peace in knowing that and someone they elected to be Judge feels that way also.
No, it was not too harsh. She should spend every day of that 20 years in prison, with no chance of early release.
We should be writing also about the no good idiot Judge who would ever even consider this as too harsh. If this Judge is elected then never vote for that judge again, if he is appointed get his @ss out of there Mr Commissioner or Mr Governor, NOW ! It's these light hearted save the pets kind of Judge that makes me sick, they are the first to pull off the side of the road to pick up a stray cat and overlook a homeless person.
She is serving no useful purpose, execute her.

Too Harsh, not at all. I was in the courtroom everytime, and thank GOD for Judges like Judge Kathleen Sutula. This Judge sentences defendants by the law and NOT the color of skin, religion or whatever. This Jusdge is NOT afraid of doing what is right. She will always have my vote.
It was not enough!!! Let the victims family decide the length of sentence. As for me taking 2 lives should mean 2 life sentences!!!
Now the judge gave her 16.
No sentance will bring those 2 people back, none.

Is 20 years to harsh, you have got to be kidding me!!!!! 20 years per person killed is what it should be, if not longer. what a bunch of bull that she got her sentenced reduced!!!!! Do we have yet another judge that is going to go easy on all of the drunk drivers???
until we become serious about drinking and driving people are going to continue to die. This is horrific and everyone should be outraged because it can happen to you or someone you love. 20 years, thats a slap on the wrist. Life in prison or maybe lethal injection. Maybe this would stop a few people from getting behind the wheel.
Too harsh not by a long shot! Fair no. You all fell to see the real issue here. The appeal was based on the lack of consistency with sentencing. James Skolsky was given 6 years for basically committing the same offense just a few days prior to the reckless homicides that Moore committed. Skolsy's blood alcohol level was higher than Moore's, he had a previous DUI charge, he killed 2 people driving the wrong way on area higways. The only difference was that his family asked for leniency after he displayed strong feelings of remorse in open court. So instead of asking if the sentence was too harsh, each of you should be asking how can we get stricters DUI laws. Which means be proactive before another tradegy occurs. DON'T JUST TALK ABOUT IT WRITE YOUR LOCAL COUNSEL PERSON AND MORE IMPORTANTLY VOTE AND MAKE SURE YOUR ELECTED OFFICIALS IMPOSE THE MAXIUM SENTENCES FOR ALL MURDERS!!!
Robbie Moore should have both retinas removed from her eyes and given to a person who needs them. I'd say to amputate both arms but then someone whould have to feed her and she is not worth the effort! She gave up any human status when she killed those poor kids. She is a worthless former human being who has no right to live. In Europe she whold be snuffed like the mad dog that she is. Save your Christian charity for those who deserve it. Havesting her organs and donating them to the needy would be the only potential salvation of this otherwise total wasyte of oxygen.
I think all of you are wrong. It was about race. She got more time because she was an African American woman who killed two White people. A white man who killed two African American people only got 6 years, 3 years for each person. In the courts eyes, white life has always been more precious than that of African Americans. If you feel that 20 years is not nearly enough for such a crime, then why not petition to the court to give the white guy more time for killing 2 people. I didn't see anyone posting comments about him saying that he was a waste of oxygen & that he should be put to death & his eyes & other body parts be used for organ donation. Taking a life is wrong, but the scales of justince should be balanced, and in this case they clearly were not. That's why the Judge reduced the sentence.
