Laura Williams should definitely step down. She failed to do her job. I wish Johanna a speedy recovery.

The accused rapist should not have even been in the juvenile system--he was accused of a crime with a deadly weapon. He should have been in the adult justice system and incarcerated until trial. Now, a young girls life is ruined and no punishment now can change that. He sounds like a gang punk.

This goes to show how kids can get away with all kinds of things, This man( You can't say he's a kid, because he knew what he was doing) Raped and beat this girl girl, he was arrested and released, with a slp in the hands and basically told not to do it again. Now this young girl will NEVER be the same for the rest of her life. This man should be put in JAIL and have the key thrown away. God knows he'll probably do it again and who's going to prevent the next time? No one, because Williams made the wrong desicion and as she said " She will do it again". She has not only failed for the safety of this young girl, But for the rest of the other victims this man may do this too. May god bless Johanna and I wish her a speedy recovery.

Laura Williams should be relieved of that job.She is wrong saying she did the right thing. You see how right it was. If it was her daughter he would never have been put on house arrest. Nobody that did a rape by knife point belongs on house arrest. Jam them in the detention center but keep them there. Fill it to the brim but keep those scumbags locked up. They need to change their policies. I'm sure someone else would have been less of a risk. But she should for sure get that attitude of hers adjusted. Put her in a room with that creep.

I feel that the system is blind! This should not had played out this way.The boy raped her at knife point and threaten her and her family lifes! And he gets house arrest knowing that the technology for the braclets are not secured! And also knowing that he was/is an mad dog on the loose! Now you see what happens when the system fells you!Now its time for us as people to speak up and let are voice be heard! So we can protect the innocent people in the world! It has to start NOW before we have more innocent lifes destroyed!God Bless you Johanna and your family in Jesus name my prayers go out to you all!America its time to wake up and take back our streets!

My prayers are with the victim and her family.

They should file a complaint with the Supreme Court, having WILLIAMS disbarred!! She has displayed she does not have the ability to hold a law license. There is no reason this man should have NOT remained in custody on the original arrest. Since WILLIAMS released him it makes me wonder how she may know him!

I am all for assisting this young lady, however, since the COUNTY FAILED her to begin with, LET THE COUNTY expend the funds to get her the best health care and future follow up care, since she is at a COUNTY HOSPITAL!! And, the salary and benefits WILLIAMS leaves behind when disbarred should help.
Just my thoughts. Again, my prayers are with the victim and her family.

It is time the justice system realize they

What a tragedy. She should be thankful she is in the COUNTY hospital. The reputation of that institution should not be based on one person's mistake. Metro is one of the finest Level I trauma centers in the COUNTRY with phenomenal trauma surgeons and nurses. The COUNTY may have messed up, but the COUNTY HOSPITAL is not one to be put down because of this situation - no one in this region gives better Trauma care than the COUNTY hospital.

Rape at knife point is too violent for anything less than immediate and mandatory imprisonment. Anything less is unconscionable. The magistrate is incompetent and should be fired with prejudice.

The juvy should have been in jail & a juvy with a lessor crime should have been on house arest. laura williams should definitely step down & be held accounted for letting him go. Good luck to Johanna & a speedy recovery.

I felt very outraged after seeing this story on TV. Especially after Laura Williams response. Laura's attitude was very arrogant and uncaring. I think she should be fired from her job as judge.

The juvy should have went to jail & a less offender under house arest. laura williams should be held accountable & charged. This is the way the system works & its a shame. A fast & speedy recover for Johanna, our prayers go out to her.

With all the money misspecnt in Cleveland, OH, there has to be a way to put rapists like this in jail ... Now you know: THE ANKLE BRACELET DID NOT STOP HIM FROM RUINING THIS GIRL'S LIFE.

One incident is enough to make this never happen again. Laura Williams need to be put in another position. She has failed in this one. What would she say if it was her sister's face?

Laura Williams you failed this young lady - should be a crime in itself -

I feel really sorry for this family and what this young man has done to this family. The jail was already at its maximum capacity and could not house this young man. You can not blame the magistrate but the system failed and families have failed. Anyone ask why some many teenagers are in jail. Where is the family structure that teaches kids right from wrong. My prayers go out to this young lady in her healing and to the family.

This is a clear mistake by someone who was promoted to this position based on a quota. If this happened to a black female and the suspect were white, the black community would be protesting this as well. And if the magistrate were white, oh my!!

I find it hard to believe that a clerk of the court who is supposed to up hold our justice system let a juvenile who is accused of raping a woman at knife point off with house arrest and told him not to go near her. Where as if the male who was accused were over the age of 18 would be remanded to jail. I not sure what this justice system is coming to when a criminals have more rights than then the victims they hurt do. It is kinda scary when you think about. Williams should step down from her position so she doesn't make the same mistake twice. Our prayer and thoughts are with Johanna we wish her a speedy recovery.

This is absolutely insane. Just when you think you've seen it all in regards to Cleveland failing our children, here's another sad example of how screwed up this city really is. We can't lay the blame solely on Laura Williams. Obviously her superiors didn't have a problem with her decision. However, I would like to see Ms Williams at Johanna's bedside explaining to her why she stands behind her warped decision to free this monster. Unbelievable.

I THINK LAURA WILLIAMS SHOULD BE HELD LIABLE FOR ALL BILLS

How could Laura Williams say that she did not think this criminal was a danger, HELLO, was he not being accused of raping a girl at knife point? And she doesn't think that makes one dangerous? Clearly this woman is in the wrong line of work, get her out now before someone else pays the price for her absolute stupidity.

My heart goes out to this young girl, I will never, ever forget her. I am 42 yrs old now but when I was a teen I suffered through a brutal
rape and I live with it forever, it changes you, forever. I did not have the courage she had to report the scum that raped her. I admire her for that. It's just a shame the system let her down in such an unforgivable way.

Johanna, you'll be in my heart and prayers forever.

I am outraged at what has happened to Johanna. That young man should not have been allowed to go home under any circumstances. I feel his parent/guardian is as responsible as he is since he was able to leave the home and obtain a weapon.

To Johanna and her family: you are all in my prayers and I truly respect your courage in exposing the system's heinous failure.

Magistrate Williams made an unspeakably bad call here and that she refuses to admit it, tells a lot about her.

This is not the first time Ms. Williams let out a male juvenile, who then proceeded to commit another crime against a person. How many mistakes is a magistrate allowed? Clearly, her judgement should be questioned.

What effect is this going to have on other young rape victims? Will they feel protected by the court system? Would Ms. Williams feel her reasoning was sound if it had been her daughter, niece or even herself?

They made room for Juan in the detention center this time. Was another young offender released in order for that space to be made available?

It would seem appropriate, as the aunt suggested, for Ms. Williams to visit Johanna in hospital and see exactly what her judgement, that she would repeat, means to the young woman.

It takes more courage to be Johanna in reporting the rape and being able to face her uncertain future now than it does to render a decision from the bench.

Stay strong Johanna, don't forget your dreams and reach for the stars, you will be whole again. God bless.

As for Ms. Williams - how can you sleep knowing you are responsible? You are a repeat offender of bad judgement.

This young man should have been locked up the first time. That crap about the detention center being overcrowded is a just a lame excuse, they could have made room for him. Laura Williams should be ashamed of herself. She should be fired. How would she feel if that were her family lying there in the hospital!

Well the only thing is that if she did'nt let him out that time he still would have plan to kill her anyway. He would have been out in 3yrs in kiddie system then what?

First the Misgistrate Williams downplays the most vicious herrendous act one can commit towards another human being and then opens the door to attempt to murder his victim and has the audacity to say she would do it again because of legislation!!!! With that way of thinking.. why have laws?? The public should be outraged and her immediate dismal called upon! Now to the Family, who clearly is a victim of Magistrate Williams and her reason for holding a position in the courts..May God Speed recovery to your loved one and your confidence in America and May Justice come thru for you with the countrys support!

Laura Williams appears to be the typical judge today at any level. Judges are human and we all make mistakes but to callously admit that you would make the same mistake again is nothing but egotistical. Judges should not be able to think on the bench they should have to follow strict guidelines already spelled out for them so that mistakes are not made. Rape.. you stay in detention. Minor vehicle violations... you go home and come back at a later date. Most of the criminals know how to play on the judges sympathies and have proven that they can out think the egotistical maniacs that run the justice system into the ground. My thoughts and prayers go out to Johanna and her family.

This is why SO MANY RAPE VICTIMS do not report their rape! If someone is insane enough to rape a girl at knifepoint, what is stopping them from doing something worse in retaliation?
And where is this boy's family? I feel that his family is as just as responsible for this horrible crime as the Magistrate!

Criminals love the Cleveland justice system. Cleveland government coddles criminals and is blind to the victim: City Council (all of them), the Police Brass (not the rank the file), the mayor, the city prosecutors (whoever they are).

Where is the get tough on crime leadership? They moved out of Cuyahoga County to some place safer.......
