Your say: Diet soda dangers?

New research raises concern that soft drinks may pose a health risk to the heart.

Researchers say the link was found with even calorie-free diet soda.

Did you have second thoughts when opening that diet soda at work today? Or do you think the science is still coming in about soda dangers?

Great subject! There is a lot of consensus that ARTIFICIAL SWEETNERS, such as 'NutraSweet' and 'Splenda' (just to name 2), are indeed harmful to one's health mostly long-term. The best book out on this subject is one titled 'Sweet Deception' by Dr. Joseph Mercola. It is indeed an 'eye opener' regarding things such as botched safety trial tests and lies at the FDA, regarding the safety of some of these products. Dr. Mercola's conclusion... artificial sweetners are far from safe!

I am addicted to sugar products. I quit it cold turkey. I drank diet sodas and lost 50 pounds. Of course I quit sweets . I used non sugar products in my cereal and other drinks, It was that or I would not lose weight. Later I will try to drink other products other than diet sodas. So how can it cause me to gain weight when I lost weight? Thank you for letting me post my opinion.
