Your say: New flights from Hopkins?

The Plain Dealer has reported that Continental Airlines plans a $50 million expansion at Hopkins. The deal would expand the number of flights and destinations Continental flies from Hopkins.

What flights would you like to see from Hopkins?

I"d like to see more direct flights to Ft. Myers, FL (RSW), and to Charlotte, NC. With so many baby boomers heading to the Carolinas and beyond, it only makes sense.

I'd like to see more direct flights to Europe. In the peak season you can already fly to London, Paris is starting next year, but flights to the KLM (Continental partner) hub-airport Schiphol (Amsterdam, NL) would help a lot in getting CLE established as an International hub-airport.

More flights to Europe will definitely help attract local business. This can give Cleveland a big boost being another place for direct flights to Europe rather than the insanely busy airports like Atlanta, Newark, JFK, Boston, etc. This will also be a plus to attract more business to the Cleveland area.

I'd like to see the CLE to London flight operate year round but on a more comfortable plane than the 757. I'd also like to see more flights to the Carolinas.

I'd like to see a few direct flights to Tucson, instead of having to connect when I visit friends and family in NE Ohio. There are quite a few people from OH down here who would appreciate this convenience, I'm sure.

Definitely the West Coast markets of Portland, Oregon, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada & Seattle, Washington merit direct, non-stop service, as these are either not currently being served or, as in Seattle's case, are just seasonal.

Any increase in international flights will require a remodeling or expansion of immigration and customs (what a dump). Continental's most profitable route is Newark to Tel Aviv. Look for a possible CLE-TLV flight.
Frankly, I hope for any expansion that does NOT involve regional jets.

Year-round Non-Stops to: Paris, London, Honolulu, Hong Kong,Tokyo, Tel Aviv, and Delhi (just to name a few). How about 767 service to LAX; those 737s and 757s get cramped!
