Rock Hall Ceremony Returns
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's Induction Ceremony will be held in Cleveland in 2009. It's just the second time the fesitivites will be held in the city since the Rock Hall opened.
For many years, music fans have felt snubbed as the ceremonies were held in New York.
There is also word that following 2009, the ceremony could return to Cleveland every three years.
So music fans, is it enough?

The Rock Hall is in Cleveland, the Ceremony should ALWAYS be in Cleveland.....enough said!
To me, this is good news! But here's the big question Clevelanders are wondering: If the Rock Hall is in Cleveland, why are we only allowed to have the ceremony here every 3 years at the best? It should be here EVERY YEAR!
I think this is GREAT! What a positive boost for a city that hasn't been so positively recognized lately.

The Rock Hall has become an embarrassment for Cleveland. Leave the ceremony in New York.
Everyone knows that it should be renamed the Rolling Stone Hall of Fame as Jann Wenner chooses the inductees anyway.
It lost all credibility with real rock and roll fans when it started inducting pop and hip hop artists.
It's about time the ceremony is held in Cleveland. Why is Cleveland good enough to have the Hall of Fame but not the ceremony?
Now they just have to induct KISS and all will be right with the world.
I don't even know WHY 'The Rock Hall' is located in Cleveland anyway! OK, so Alan Freed coined the term 'Rock And Roll'... big deal. Other than that, how many notable rock bands or acts can NE Ohio claim? Maybe 4 or 5, like Devo, Chrissie Hynde, Pere Ubu, Eric Carmen, Warrant, Chimaira... that's about it (Michael Stanley doesn't count- LOL!)! The New York metro area on the other hand, has spawned Kiss, Blue Oyster Cult, Talking Heads, Patti Smith, Ramones, Television, The Velvet Underground, Bon Jovi, Billy Squier, Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny & The Asbury Jukes, Lou Reed, The Smithereens, The Feelies, Fountains Of Wayne, October Project, Symphony X, Ronnie James Dio, Skid Row, Twisted Sister, Starz, Zebra, Overkill, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, etc. etc. ... the list is long. Ditto for L.A. or Chicagoland. So the ceremony being in NYC makes sense. Cleveland does NOT 'rock' compared to these above meccas of rock!
It should permanently be held here.
The Rock Hall is a joke. It never should have been built here. Cleveland had nothing to do with the birth of Rock and Roll. It will be embarrassing to have the national media come to town and see the sorry state of our downtown. Put it in New York, sink the Rock Hall into the lake and put a park in its place.
According to a local station they are talking about maybe considering hosting it here every three years. But don't be fooled! They also want to remodel the Rock Hall. Guess who they will want to pay for it? Then change thier minds about the three year rotation.
The induction ceremonies should have been held in Cleveland from the very beginning.
If the Baseball Hall of Fame can be located in Cooperstown, N.Y. and the Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Oh.,(not extremely large communities), there shouldn't be any problem with Cleveland hosting the annual induction ceremonies at our Rock Hall every year, period!!!

you know,.......think about the total lack of importance in this entire discussion and non-event. Why on earth would anyone "care" where in the hell some "I'm Great / acknowledge me" award show originates from? Hold the thing in Bali, for all I care
The rock Hall is in Cleveland, the Ceremony should be here. Why would you want to make a disgrace of Cleveland? All of the record executives and music cronies and whoever else wants to attend the ceremony needs to get their butts on a plane and come to Cleveland. We have the resources here to have the Ceremony where it belongs. Cut the BS and stop making a fool out of us Clevelanders!
**Additionally, I do not feel hip hop, rap, or any other "non-rock" groups should EVER be inducted. This is all about rock and roll. Why would anyone want to embarrass or disrespect what this is all about? Keep the genre rock only, if you want a “hip hop” or “rap” hall of fame go build yourself one and stop ruining what this is all about!
There's no reason to have the ceromony in Clevelnd. Have you been to the Rock Hall lately?? Not much in there. Use the property for something that will draw the people to the lakefront..
I no longer support 'The Rock Hall' in any way, shape, or form. It is a TRAVESTY that KISS and RUSH have not been inducted, and that several *NON-ROCK* bands have! I spit on 'The Schlock Hall'!!!
