Jacobs Field Era Ends

On Friday, crews dismantled the Jacobs Field marquee at Carnegie and Ontario bringing the end of an era. The ballpark is being renamed Progressive Field.

Are you ready for the adjustment to the new stadium name? The new marquee should be installed sometime before opening day.

The Indians, meanwhile, are trying to determine what to do with the letters that made up the main portion of the marquee. What do you think should happen to them?

It completely stinks. I'm almost as upset by this as I was When the Wahoo sign left the uniforms and the was excluded from the new ballpark. Who the heck cares about Progressive? It will always be the Jake; same with GUND arena!

It is sad to see "The Jake" era come to an end. It has been incredible. As on of the hundreds of people just laid off by Progressive, this adds insult to injury. I know what to do with the Jacobs Field sign, leave it where it is!

Progressive didn't win any points. Taking a part of my life's memories / expectations is what I'll remember them for. I won't ever buy there insurance. I doubt I'll call it whatever when I talk about a game ... it will always be The Jak.

I think they should place the JACOBS FIELD sign in the BASEBALL HALL OF FAME.So that many vistors to our fair city can remember with fond memories as well. The title of PROGRESSIVE PARK is a stupid name. I think the name should be CHAMPS FIELDS because the INDIANS are always winners in my book win or lose. Thank You Connie
