C.C.'s Statement
Tribe ace, C.C. Sabathia, issued a statement on his website Thursday morning saying that he's in effect tabling contract extension talks until the end of the season.
The Indians and C.C.'s representatives had been trying to hammer out a deal. But C.C. in his statemenet says now that spring training is here, he doesn't want to be distracted by on going talks. His statement says he remains hopeful a deal can be worked out with the Indians.
C.C. is eligible to become a free agent at the end of the 2008 season.
So what do you think Indians fans, is C.C. looking to stay or go? We want to hear from you.

He's waiting for the offers to come in. The Management team of the Indians needs to keep him here, or we will be doomed from going to the World Series for another 50 yrs.!!!!!!
I think it is very unfair for CC to wait until the end of the year. CC and the Indians need to step up and get this done. If CC wants full support of the fans, then CC should not leave fans in limbo for all season. It should either be sign CC to a long term deal or trade CC!!!
C.C couldnt wait for spring training so that he could so-call stop the "supposed" contract talks, hide behind the upcoming season and wave farewell to Cleveland in October. So here is the question why not trade C.C. "now" and acquire some talent that could help us today and tomorrow. His career in Cleveland so far totals 100 wins. over 7 years avergages 14 wins per season. Perhaps last year of 19 wins was a fluke? How crisp will he be since last year he threw 50 more innings than he did in 06' thats almost equivilant to 6 plus starts. The Indians happen to be blessed with a some wonderful starters albeit not a C.C. quality but perhaps enough to offset his 14 wins on average per season. I believe it wasnt his extra few wins that cost us a chance at the Series but the lack of hitting. With a more consistant Hafner and a new bat via a trade we could indeed win it all in o8'
At least C.C. isn't holding out and I must commend him for staying commited to his current contract.
See ya!!!!! THAT IS WHAT THAT COMMENT MEANS,I SAY TRADE HIM BEFORE HE WALKS AND WE GET NOTHING IN RETURN!!GO TRIBE WORLD SERIES CHAMPS IN 2068
Trade him now, before we have another Thome or Ramirez, don't go there again.
no one is worth this kind of jack to work 4-5 innings every 5 days....give me another $7.00 beer please!
