Midwest Quake
A strong 5.2 magnitude earthquake centered in southern Illinois rattled much of the Midwest early Friday morning.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the epicenter was near the town of West Salem.
But people as far away as the greater Cleveland area felt the quake as did people in Milwaukee, Chicago and Indianapolis.

Oh my goodness yes I did. What a weird feeling to be laying in bed on your back when it's dark out and have the sensation someone is rocking the bed under you and your back is feeling gentle tremors on it. Initially I was scared then something told me there was a quake somewhere or other.
I felt my love seat shake as I was siting in it reading Thursday night befor 10:00 pm
I'm from Cleveland but I got to school at Ohio University in Athens. My roommate and I both felt it. My bed shook for about 10 seconds. Very weird, especially when it wakes you up!
Omg! I live in Akron. My bed shook a bit and my old cabinet made a repeated rattled. It was still early morning, I thought I was being haunted or there must have been some strong construction truck driving around.
I'm from Herrin (Southern Illinois). Around 4:30ish this morning, felt like a train was going past as the whole house shook for around 10-15 seconds.
No need for the alarm clock this morning. Assumed that it was a "Lake Erie burp". Was surprised when I found out how far away the center was.
Just as it was getting light this morning I felt my bed moving side to side. I looked to see if my husband was moving it, but he was in the bathroom getting ready for work. I was just getting awake so did not time it, but it seemed to go on for a long time.
I live in Knoxville, Tenn, and I was awaken to the sound of my sound of pictures moving around on my bedside table. My dog was going nuts.
I woke to my bed shaking and my closet creaking. It sounded like sombody was running on my roof. I would say it lasted for a minute or two. It was over by the time I figured what the heck was going on. I went back to bed and when I awhoke I heard on the news my suspicions was correct. I am shocked I felt it when nobody else I know did. I live in akron
