Everyone one that I talk to is in "My circle" with Alltel. Don't cost me a dime extra. Love Mobile to Mobile.

In my case I saved from $50 to $100 a month by changing my plan to a little bit more expensive plan! I changed to an unlimited text plan for $10 more a month. That saved me in overage charges. It was well worth the $10 to save on those charges.
A good idea, especially if you have teenagers on your plan.

Think about how often you really use the "extras" such as web access and videos. Cut them out if you don't use often enough to justify the charge. I save a few dollars a month by not having web access. I've never had video or anything else more advanced.

Take advantage of the "off-peak" times (make sure you know what your plan's "off-peak" times are as they vary from plan-to-plan), and keep track of how much peak-time you're using. I spend two hours a day driving to and from work, so the convenience of having a cell phone in an emergency is great.

I use Revol. Everything is free all the time. Service is shaky sometimes but worth a try if you use your phone like I do.

Look to see if your employer offers a discount with a certain carrier. I work for US Bancorp (US Bank) and Verzion and AT&T offer us corporte discounts. Verizon's is much better with reduced pricing on phones and 22% off every months usage bill! Great savings and it's easy to do.

I am a 96 year old man. I do not have a cell phone. I still have my black Ohio Bell rotary phone. I have had this phone since 1947 and it works fine. I also save a lot of money too. Thank you.

I think by having your cell phone double as a computer is a horrible idea and hits you in the pocketbook horribly as well.

Also, eliminating those calls "just to talk on the way home from work" would be fabulous. Not only will it decrease your minute usage, but it will save some of us commuters trying to get home safely.

As yes, I agree - if you continue to go over your minutes/text messages, look into buying the next package up to avoid paying charges for going over. I did this with text messaging and my bill is much more reasonable.

Buy the pay-per use phones and only use them for short calls or emergencies.

Besides, Cleveland Clinic researchers have shown that they reduce Male sperm count and quality. Why would you use a device like this for long periods of time?

Use a "pay as you go" phone, or don't use one at all.

Our family uses pay as you go phones. When I bought a phone for my daughter at xmas, I bought a phone and 1000 minutes for $88. When she runs out, she's on her own until next xmas. So far, she's been pretty frugal and still has over 700 minutes.

I also don't give give me cell number to many people. They can leave a message at home. Only my family, kids' schools and a few close friends have my cell number.

Cell phones are useful, but I've heard too many cell conversations that consist of "Hi..I'm at the grocery story...what are you doing?..I'm not doing anything...l" Lots of nothing!

I use Revol . My son and I have our phones billed together to save even more . We use the long distance and text and no web or video . I also got rid of my land line. The cell was cheaper than the service plan with ATT if you live in Mentor .
